| With many yorkies being so small, i say the risk is too great to spay/neuter at a young age, it's an elective surgery anyway you slice it. One of my pups came from a litter that collectively did not respond well to vaccinations, I could only imagine how he might have have fared with anesthesia. I was not going to risk it. Wait till they are full grown and developed at 18 months to 2 years, it's not hard to keep a little yorkie from getting pregnant, most are kept in a house anyways and they only go into heat a few times a year. |

It's not just vaccine reactions, my dog is very sensitive to chemicals and medications period. He actually had an adverse reaction to anesthesia during a minor procedure he had at a young age on paw injury so that pretty much sealed the deal for me. They had to rush to pull him out of it. Not going under again unless his life depends on it. It's just not worth losing him. He's my buddy. | |

Bc there could be many explanations for this reaction, including a mistake in dosing by the vet team. And you'd also need to know *exactly* which meds were used for masking down and for the anesthesia itself.
