| Yorkie Hair cut/Hair color Hi Yorkie Talk, I have a yorkie Dallas who is about nine months old. He had black/tan hair, in July I had him get a "trim" at PetsSmart they cut ALL of his hair off. Now he is only a tan color. He has been this way for about two months now. Does anyone know how long it takes to grow hair back and also will his hair go back to being black? Is there anythig I can get to help it get back to normal? |

| Welcome to YorkieTalk. It's hard to say if the hair will grow darker when it gets longer. Usually hair grows fairly fast. Colors change as yorkies mature. My boys are 2 and 3 and have changed dramatically from their first year. Max's head is nearly all gold now and my blondie Teddy's head is darkening to gold. Post pictures and members here may be able to give more guesses as to how your boy's hair will mature.

| I don't think his hair is going to grow back black. He will most likely lighten up as he ages. He's a cutie!

| Looks like to me the black puppy hair was turning gold anyway before it was shaved away. Once it's gone, I doubt it will return. He may even get lighter as he ages...

| I just know that everytime I have cut Kayla down, she always comes back black. Dudley was cut down, I think twice, and he begin to come back blue. Now he is getting that steel blue color all over his back. I think my breeder said they could change colors up until they were about 3. Don't know. BUt they are all sweeties regardless of what color they are. lol!!! |

| He's adorable!!! They do change color and it looks like he was going to change anyway. The cut just hurried it along!
