| Cleaning products? Ever since I moved into my apartment, I've been a lot more wary of cleaning products, since a lot of things seem to be in easier reach for Lola, and there just arent as many safe hiding places for chemicals that I would normally clean with. I look at all the "green" cleansers but I'm still not sure what would be the best to use to make sure none of my pets come into contact with harmful chemicals. So far I lock them all in rooms my dogs and rats cant get into, but what products are safe to use in confined spaces that work as well as bleach and lysol? It seems like a catch-22. Keep a clean home for happy clean pets, but risk skin issues by exposing them to the smell and contact of cleaners? In my old house I'd clean one room a day and keep them out of that room for a few hours, but theres just sooooo little space in an apartment, confining them seems cruel. |

| I use vinegar and water (50/50 mix). Works great--it cuts grease, disinfects, and does not leave streaks or a film. That and magic erasers And for a cleanser type cleaner like Comet, use baking soda instead.

| I use white vinegar and water also and I use a steam cleaner on my floors. No carpet in my house though.

| I use baking soda or PetFresh when I vacuum! Leave it for 15 minutes and it gets rid of any animal smell in the carpet its great, and if the dogs walk on it, and track it around it isn't harmful. Never thought to use it on surfaces though thanks! |
