| puppy food....Which is best? What is the best puppy chow to feed a yorkie? I want bentley's hair to be nice and silky (I heard it all depends on the food) not sure if its right or not. Right now we have them on the purina puppy food. What do you all feed your yorkies? I want the best for them.

| i use royal canin 29 which is the puppy formula, then at ten months you go to the 30 formula which is for adults. It's great because it's just made for yorkie's needs, especially that shiny coat. Chloe loves it! Google it and see all the pet owner's reviews! |

| Well, food doesn't always make a coat automatically shiny or anything. Diet can certainly have an impact but so does genetics. I notice Jackson's coat becomes more dull on certain foods. But each dog is completely different and you have to feed what you are comfortable with and there is many other factors to judge how well a dog is doing on a food besides coat, such as poop, breath, teeth, eye boogers, etc, etc. Personally, I wouldn't feed Purina if I had a choice, but it's completely up to you. I've always been really happy with Taste of the Wild. I also had good luck with Acana and Castor & Pollux Organix. Some other brands to check out that I like would be Fromm, Nature's Variety, Innova, Wellness, and more.

| Orijen makes all life stages foods that we really like. Within a month or so, butters' coat was so incredibly soft, I couldn't believe it! |

| When you do decide after looking through what everyone suggest, go through the ingredients. You want to make sure the first few ingredients are meat (NO BY-PRODUCTS), no corn, no fillers, etc. You can also check the rating of your food at dogfoodanalysis.com. If it's not a perfect rating but a high rating don't worry, as long as your pups are doing well. |
