| What can I do? I'm 13 years old and my dad said if i get straight A's in school i can get a Yorkie. I want to know how to raise money so i can buy things for it like a doggie bed, clothes, crate etc. If you have any ideas on what i can do to raise money please post below. It doesnt have to be dog related. It can be anything from walking/washing dog to washing cars or anything like that. THANKS IN ADVANCE!! |

| When my daughter was your age (and younger!) she told me that she wanted a 'very pale golden labrador girl'!! My reply to her was - "if that's what you really, really want, you're going to have to save up for her". My thoughts were - I don't want this to be just a passing phase, I wanted her to spend plenty of time researching, and I wanted her to be the owner with all the responsibilities that entailed. So in that respect, you're really lucky that your dad's bearing the cost of your puppy! My daughter saved every birthday + Christmas and goodness knows whenever else she could - and she did it! She cleaned cars, weeded gardens, put ads in shop windows for dog walking and took a paper round - it took her 3 years in all - but she did do it, and I will always admire her for that. Good luck! | When I was your age, babysitting was a great way to make some cash Also, car washing, house cleaning, etc. for neighbors would be good. Just make sure to be safe when approaching people to get jobs, it would probably be best to have and adult with you, and if that's not possible, at the very least---take a friend with you. Please be careful and good luck to you!

| If there are elderly people in your neighborhood they may need house work done. My girls go to their greatgrand mother's and clean the cabinets inside and out. They clean ALL of the nicnacs, the shelves, the floors, the windows in and out. They may not be able to pay you much but it is money and you would be blessing others. Remember to do a REALLY good job so they will want you to come back and work for them again. Potentially it could turn into a nice job for you. You will need money for fun stuff but you will need to continue to save for vet visits too. |
