| Hawk! I have seen a hawk a few times land in trees in my neighborhood. Today I actually saw it land in my neighbors drvieway. I am pretty sure it was going after a poor little squirrel. They both went behind a house so I am not sure if it got it or not. I always go outside with Louis, but it just makes me so nervous knowing that they are out there.

| Oh no, glad you are keeping a good eye on sweet Lil Louis. Piccolo wants him to stay very safe. Seriously, we see hawks occasionally in our suburb. I am like you - I always go out with the girls. My DH did see a hawk take a squirrel right out of a tree, but I do not think that is a hawk's favorite food choice. Scary, so take care.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I have 4 hawks that take turns visiting here! Even though Tuffy is 6 1/2 & Bella is over 10 pounds, I worry about the hawks "trying" to pick them up because I can just imagine what their talons would do to one of my pups in the attempt. If either of them is out, so is Mom! (or dad, or my son) At night, I shine a light into the big oak in our backyard just in case. Usually, it's early morning that they come to "visit" but you never know.

| I am glad everyone is OK ! We had a close encounter with a huge owl not long ago. It is frighting. Happily for us no one was hurt. I try to be very careful around trees. I live in Bartow Fl it is called the city of oaks !

| I have hawk problem too. Dang thing! He has been gone for a while but he is back. I hover over my two when I let them out. Really makes me mad cause I have 2-acres fenced and can't let me two run as they please. I tried runing it off early spring by shooting at it with a BB gun. He would fly away and come back next day. aaarrrggghh! |

| We have had five hawks circling high over our Yorkies (we were with them) on my parents' deck. We grabbed the girls and ran inside. We have also had hawks land in our trees just off the deck. Too scary. The girls are never on the deck alone. We also have scattered chairs around the deck so there is some cover and we have a giant umbrella up, but we are still out there with them. If we see a hawk in the area, we take them inside.

Yorkie Yakker | I was talking to my mother about hawks the other day. She has chickens. She told me that one day a hawk came down and grabbed a young chicken. It was not a baby, but about half grown. She said the hawk was lifting, but going a little slow. Then the mother hen jumped up while the hawk was several feet off the ground and rammed the hawk. The hawk dropped the young chicken and took off. Hawks are amazing creatures, but I worry so much about our little one. |

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Oh my! Do be careful! We have hawks around here too and I notice them a lot. We live near a lot of farm land and I think they patrol the fields looking for mice and such. I will be keeping a very sharp eye out when our Yorkie gets here. Be safe!
