| Training Treats?? Dixie is 9wks old and I have been working training her the basic commants (sit, shake, down) she does very well with these. I have been using cherrios but only one or two cause I am worried about sugar and stuff. I have ordered a clicker and it will be here in the next couple days (if not today) so we are going to start working hard core on training and I just want to use the best training treats possible. And suggestions?? |

| Lots of people use Zukes Mini Naturals Training Treats but Cooper can't handle too many of them. I like Baby Gerber Puffs in a variety of flavors.

| I don't think they will hurt in moderation. My boys are both over 10 pounds though so it's easier for me to say. I'm sure someone else will come and give you other advice. Maybe you can also try some fresh veggies (peas, carrots)

| We also used Zuke's Mini Naturals. Our pups loved them! |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I like the Zukes too; BUT I cut them into at least quarters. The pups don't know the difference. Mine are also larger Yorkies. I have been known to sneak their regular food in now & then while training too

| Lots of people use Cheerios - you can even break each Cheerio into smaller pieces too. I really like the soft Buddy Biscuits -- made by Cloud Star. They are soft and chewy and easy to break apart, plus they are so cute, shaped like little gingerbread men lol. They are also low in calories and fat. I think Zuke's are about 3 calories per treat and again, easy to break in half. Or you could just use chicken breast and break it into tiny pieces.

| I like using the Wellness Wellbites treats and tear them into several small bites. She loves them, but if we turn the training session a little longer than usual and she has eaten too many of them her stool can get a little runny. (ewe) So now if she's having a good time training I'll keep at it and switch to more of a cookie type treat.

| I like these: Wellness Just For Puppy Treats They are made for puppies and are easy to quarter. I cut up a bunch at a time and put them in a ziplock.
