hate when someone tell you want to do. I hate people who thinks they know whats good for your dogs. This morning our neighbor happen to walk her dogs the same time with us. I had JoJo on the leash cus I dont like him to go off running down the bayou water. I had KC in my arms cus the grass was wet. Well anyway, she saw me and decided to join us. KC wanted to get down too since he saw all these dogs. He was barking and moving around trying to jump off from my arms. I told her I cant let him run around other dogs since he havent had all his shots yet. She told me that her dogs had all there shots it should be just fine. I told her if I let him down hes going to chase after Jojo. I didnt want that to happen, since JoJo needs to do his business. She want me to use JoJo's leash on KC collar and just let him walk. I told her i dont want to choke him, hes too fragile. She just looks at me with this stupid face and laugh saying I worried to much. And keep insisting me that it'll be okay. Obviously, she doesnt know anything about walking a small dog with a collar. I was going to say something rude but I had to respect my elder and just keep my mouth shut.

The world is full of people who don't know better, but think they do. Good for you for sticking to what was right and minding your manners too.

That is so maddening! You were so right! You can hurt their trachea with a collar if they are sensitive to it. My mother in law who's had maybe 2 dogs her entire life is full of advise like that. One time Pita ran down the road to the neighbors, my mominlaw says to me , did you spank her when you finally caught her? I told her that wouldn't do any good cuz Pita would think I spanked her because I did catch her, she wouldn't realize WHY she was gettin spanked. So mominlaw says "things that always worked when we were young don't work anymore?" I just didn't comment, she has no animals whereas I have literally 50. I train my own horses, all of my animals are well behaved and well socialized altho I'm no expert I think i know somewhat about training. But OOOH NOOO she knows more! Ultimately it's up to you to do what you think is best, not that you can't keep an open mind to experienced reliable people's opinions because sometimes other people may have a good suggestion or valid reason why you may be doing something wrong.
