| Likes the floor better than the pillow bed? I bought two pillow beds before we brought Ferg's home from the shelter. One for her and one for my other terrier mix breed. The other dog has yet to use the pillow (I think she sneaks off into one of the beds when I'm not looking) and Ferg's uses the pillow sometimes but the last couple of days I've noticed she either: 1. Sleeps by the back door near my big dog (and one of the cats) or 2. Sleeps on the floor right next to the pillow bed. It can't be softer than the bed eh? Maybe she needs a firmer "mattress"? |

Could she possibly be overheated? Sugar will lie on the cool tile floor when she is too hot

| She could be hot. I'm not sure why, assuming it was the breed, but she feels warmer than my other two dogs. |

| Ahi likes to sleep on the kitchen tile when it's hot out. And on her Cloud 9 during the night. I do notice she runs warmer too.

| My Faith occasionally sleeps under her bed so she can sleep on the crate floor...lol. I would see an empty crate and flip out till i noticed what she was doing....lol. She likes the floor as well although she'll sleep fine in her bed as well :-) |

| My 4 alternate from the bed to the hardwood floor, depends on how hot it is. They always have ceiling fans on where they sleep at night and the AC in the daytime.

| I thought one of Lizzy's other homes (I was her third) made her sleep on the floor or something. I have beds for the dogs and they are all allowed on the furniture. My Italian Greyhounds wouldn't dream of laying on the floor and even expect me to hold the throws in the beds up for them to climb under. Lizzy is laying on the floor in front of me as I type this. It seems so strange!

| Considering you do not know her history...coming from a Shelter, it's quite possible she has made a routine of sleeping on floors especially if her prior owners did not provide her with a bed of her own. My rescue dogs were all fickled at first and slept here and there but, after awhile and a little persuasion with treats hidden in their beds they all have learned to lve their beds. All of my girls still like to do their own things but, come winter time it's always snuggle time in bed with Momma!

| Even in chilly old England (!), Harry often chooses to lay on the floor with his nose by the gap at the bottom of the back door! + in his car crate, he'll move the mattress so it's in half, then lay on the 'cold' bit! I've spent a fortune on beds - but when it's really cold - he still prefers ours (thank goodness!) Sally + Harry |
