| nose color Hi all. I just noticed that Toby's nose is not "jet black". I wouldn't say it's liver or chocolate, just not as black as Chloe's is. Toby is 14 weeks, 3 days. The rims of his eyes are just as dark as Chloe's and the paws of his feet are black. I contacted the breeder and let them know that everything I have researched has said that off colored noses are bad... but his nose isn't liver or chocolate... just not super jet black if that makes sense. I can't post pics on here, but if anyone would like pictures I could email them from my iPhone. I always get all paranoid like this after I bring home a puppy, I mean I would love him if his nose was royal blue, but I am curious! |

| I don't know if it's a big issue. Kaji has a bit of discoloration on his nose. It's not all one color. Can you post what your breeder says? You made me curious about the nose.

| Quite a while ago I bought a Maltese puppy from a breeder that had kept her to show but her nose color was not black enough so I was able to purchase her. It is a show defect but of course does not effect their ability to be a great pet. It was a few years back so I am having a hard time remembering exactly but her nose would get darker during certain times of the year and would look normal but when the seasons changed her nose would look more of a brown color. I read that it had something to do with the sun and vitamin D and or E. Some people were putting Vit E out of a vit E capsule on their dog's noses. I didn't as it really did not bother me or her that much. I'll bet if you googled it you could find better info. Maybe a breeder could help you. Are you going to show or breed you puppy? |

| 3 of my yorkie have black noses and 1 has a liver/brown nose. All related. My golden had a brown nose.

| Would you be able to tell if he was a golden at 15 weeks? He is standard coloring and both of his parents are standard coloring as well. I know that they can be carriers, but his parents have produced other litters as well. |
