| What to do? My neighbors got a puppy yorkie last weekend. My heart sunk when I saw that because this woman is - let's say... very self involved. She has two very young, very hyper little boys who she spends little time with, and the way she was carrying this poor puppy, she looked to be using it like a fashion statement. I can't say anything to her because we don't get along, as they are loud and I've filed several noise complaints with the management about them. So tonight, the poor pup is left alone and in the dark. It's been crying for well over two hours now. It's now midnight, still no one home. It's making me want to cry! Wall-e hears her too, and is all worked up about it. I called our security company who said they will come take a look, but nothing much else they can do. I'm ready to break down the door! Any suggestions?

| If this woman can't take care of her children then you know that she will not take proper care of this poor pup. I would use every opportunity to call the management, police & animal control every time you hear the pup cry or bark & make a noise complaint & she will be forced to rehome the pup hopefully before the kids hurt the pup. |

| I ended up calling our complex security company, and they sent out a security guy who I spoke to. He could hear the puppy from the hall, and to him he thought it was a woman screaming! He ended up calling our local Sheriff's dept to have them investigate. They said they were coming, but they never showed up. I listened to the poor thing cry until after 1am. I then heard the neighbors finally come home at 2:30am. I couldn't believe they left a puppy - probably 12 or 13 wks max - home alone for 5+ hours. I felt sick all night. This morning I've emailed our Complex manager about the situation, and I'm waiting for local animal control to open so I can call and talk to them too. I don't ever want another night like that again. I felt so helpless.

| Do you think you could burry the ax and just let her know you would love to take the puppy when she isn't home? Someone needs to care for that baby. I doubt it will be taken from her because it's barking and crying. You could help it out by giving it love and attention and anything else it may be needing.

| I hate when people who have no time, or choose to make no time, bring another life into theirs.... Be it a baby or pet! The poor thing will probably end up re-homed because she'll have no time to potty train or socialize the poor thing! Or God forbid she bites one of the rambunctious children and ends up labeled aggressive.... So sad :-( |

i dont get this. i mean Ziggy is 17 weeks old. my uncle asked me to come help with an event he is hosting on the 1st of Sep. from thursday to sunday night (its a huge festival) and i would love to go. did it last year and it was so fun! and i would have left Ziggy with my 19yo bro and my mom.. BUT i know my baby, even though they would take great care of him, he freaks out when i go outside to play or feed my Toby. so i made the decision to stay. Once you get a dog you have to make sacrifices, i dont mean always, but they just got this dog. shame, i really feel for this puppy..

| A couple of years ago it was late at night and I could hear a puppy crying like it was hurt. It was awful. I went on a little investagation and found the puppy way accross the street on someones balcony. The people left a tiny puppy outside all day and night just screaming and crying. O went to the apartment manager and reported it. The management had no idea! I live all the way accross the street and then some, and nobody said anything? I thought that it was crazy! i will never understand how people can be so cruel. This is at the least a noise compaint. If you could try to talk to the people and offer your time and support. I would do it for the puppy and not for them.

| Was this the first time you heard it crying, or has it been going on all week? If it is an isolated incident then hopefully they will work things out.

| Yorkiedaze, that is a great idea, but she probably won't be very receptive to my offer of assistance after she threw her hand in my face and told me that my husband and I were a threat to her and to never speak to her or her family again. This was after we *nicely* asked if she could try to keep her boys from banging on the walls late at night when we were trying to sleep... I don't like not getting along with neighbors, especially in close quarters like apartment complexes, so we do try to be friendly, and still will. I agree they won't take the puppy away, but maybe it will have her re-think the way she treats it? This was the first time we've heard it crying, so hopefully it was an isolated incident. Thank you for all of your suggestions! I will let you know if anything else comes of this!
