| New to Yorkies Hello our names are Antonio and Alicia. I purchased our new family member Gizmoe yesterday. My wife has wanted a Yorkie for the past 5/6 years. I wanted to wait until i was out of the Marine Corps and over my "I need a big dog" thinking. We purchased him from Jordan Lake Yorkies. She didn't have the whole puppy mill vibe and some friends had purchased there 3 year old Yorkie from them which gave us the warm and fuzzy. I think she has 2 litters a year. She was very professional it wasn't a money for merchandise exchange. My wife may be jumping on here to give her two cents in a little while under the same name. He's only been eating once a day about half a cup. She was giving him Iams Puppy with the Yorkie on the bag. I bought a bag of it but i don't know if thats his intake or if he just doesn't like it. Welcome to YT! And for bringing another Gizmo into the YT world!!! He is very cute indeed. With regards to the food, I'm not a big fan of Iams personally, but see if you can get some samples of other foods out there. Science Diet, Royal Canin, Innova, Natural Balance, and Wellness are some brands big box stores carry and they're return policy if your baby doesn't like it is very good. Also, try to pick up a little bit of Nutracral for just in case circumstances. Good luck! Keep us posted!

| Welcome to Yorkietalk! Your puppy is such a cutie. If you decided to change his food you will want to do it slowly so he doesn't have tummy problems.

| Thanks for all the warm welcomes!! We are enjoying him very much today was the first time we left him for about 7 hrs by his self. We put him down stairs in the half bath with the puppy gate. He pooped and peed on his pad. We took him out as soon as we got home ran around the back yard for a while to let him blow off some energy. He only eats about half cup a day it worries my wife. I put a cap full of chicken broth over it and he munched it on down. It's hard to tell with his little bladder when he has to go i'm used to big dogs (boxer) sniffing. Gizmoe is so low to ground i don't notice the tell tell signs. so he has had a accident p in the house. He runs to his bed when i went to clean it up. I didn't show any emotion it was like he was sorry i found it funny. His hair is weird it's black and going every direction possible. Learning a lot from the site |

| Welcome to YT! Gizmoe is sure a cutie! Yorkies tend to be harder to potty train...people here can tell you. And some even at their older age still aren't 100% potty trained.
