| First Post and a bad NJ Breeder news Hello YT this is my first post. I am a proud owner of 16 week old Jackie O! I think I attached a picture. My fiance and I have learned so much from this site so thank you. Also I was wondering does you pup ever walk sideways? For the past two days on her walks shes walks sideways for 10 sec intervals for 5% of the way. I wonder if its just the harness that is bothering her? Anyway I was just watching the news and I saw this:State sues alleged dealer of sick, dying puppies | NJ.com Anyone I hope no one bought from him recently or ever. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Welcome to YT. Your little girl is adorable. Walking sideways- is it just when she is in the harness or does she do it at other times, too? Sideways walking can be a symptom of liver shunt. Jackie is old enough that you might want to consider having BAT's done to rule out a problem. I hope the state is successful in shutting down the seller in the link you provided. It's a very sad story.

| Its just when shes in her harness. I looked up some videos to see what a dog with a liver shunt walks like and it definitely not that, plus its usually never when she just eats and has no other symptoms at all. I think that when she walks her ID tag hits her and shes trying to bite it as she walks, but since I'm walking at a good pace she keeps up walking in a straight line with me but sideways. Sorry its hard to describe. I will ask my vet nonetheless as shes getting her last round of shots this week. Thanks for the advice. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | If it's just when she walks then you might want to double check to make sure one of the harness straps isn't pulling on her at a funny angle. Even something as simple as one side being slightly more tight than the other could be irritating her.

| Hi and welcome to YT. From what you said, it sounds like it's a harness issue.

| Welcome to Yorkietalk! Callie walks sideways if she has a dress or a big shirt on the sits funny on her so it could very well be the harness but checking with the vet also might a good idea.

| Welcome to YT. Abba dances sideways when he is happy. Without seeing it, it is hard to say. When in doubt check with a Vet, is always good advice. |

| Thanks for the advice guys. I really appreciate it. Now I'm all nervous, maybe she does excessively pee and drink (1 of the many symptoms of LS. I've never really pinned down how many times she goes to the bathroom, but now that I contemplate it and look at the wee wee pad it does seem like a lot. Like you said it never hurts to ask. Well I can't worry about so I will play with my baby girl. See pic. Thanks again. |

| She is so adorable! She may just be getting used to the harness and trying to rub it off! Lucy hates hers at first. If you really have concerns about possible liver shunt - have her checked out at the vet. A blood test including liver enymes and/or a BAT really isn't that expensive. Good luck and welcome to YT!

| I never knew LS patients walk sideways. I learn something on YT every day. Welcome to YT and love your baby. I hope when you have her checked, she is fine. Maybe she's just hot, drinking more water and thus peeing a lot. Anyway, won't hurt to get that test done just to be safe. Please let us know.

| Word of advice, when you have funky issues, try to video tape it with your phone...Furgie had a strange respiratory pattern after she was spayed. I am a nurse and know post op risks in humans and my mind was going crazy thinking of the things that might have been wrong with her, well she was fine, but of course when I brought her to the vet, she was breathing normal and made me seem like a paranoid mama! So...try to catch it on tape for your vet or YT. Good luck! |
