| New to this site. Please Help! Hi People! I purchased a Yorkie puppy back in late May, early June. His name is Nino since my husband wouldn't let me name him Pudd'n. I am concerned that he is not full Yorkie. Being a dog enthusiast, I knew I should've seen both his parents but I didn't. He is CKC registered. I know all their ears don't stick up. His are not and he is five months old. His hair has also not grown. I should have purchased from a reputable breeder. He is also rather leggy. I don't know what to do! |

But, keep in mind as you say....some pups ears don't stand, but there are ways to assist them. Shaving the hair to get the weight off of them.....As far as the leg....I love leg on a yorkie.......in fact I bred for it. Nothing more elegant than seeing a yorkie with long legs and in full coat gait around the ring

| Full breed or not he is cute! They have tests to check if he is full Yorkie if you really need to know. Otherwise just give him all the love and attention he needs. Welcome to YT!

Yorkie Yakker | Welcome to YT! Your little guy is adorable, what a sweet face he has, and long legs are awesome. My furbaby is a leggy girl, and I love it, they look like runway models for yorkie couture.

| I am surprized how often I have seen this question. Yorkies can look very different from the show winner and beauties we see in dog books and magazines. Just like all women don't look like the models in fashion magazines, but I am a 100% real woman with grey hair, belly scar and wrinkels and maybe more of a butt than I should have. Is your Yorkie 100% pure breed ? We can't say without DNA tests. But my guess is yes, looking at the picture. |

| Thanks for the replies y'all! I love him I really do. Even though he's peed on the couch twice this week and steals socks! I guess I was expecting pointy ears and longer hair. How much hair is a five month old supposed to have? When does it start to get long? |

| Kathryn, Here is a pic of Zoe at 5 months, and now her hair is long...her skirt below the body hangs down about 4", and her face hair is at least 4" long or more. I think they all just "mature" at their own pace, but they are ALL so beautiful! I thought for sure that Zoe would never get hair (now I miss the non-tangling super short version ).

| Yorkies are all unique in how they mature. Just love your boy for who he is and cherish the traits that make him special. I personally would be very happy to have a leggy dog, Belle has stubby little legs.... but she's my little darling girl and I love her just as she is. Here is a picture of Belle at 5 months and another more recent picture. She is 9 months old now and still changing.

BAHAHA!! That cracked me up! Pretty sure Gizmo is 1/4 Yorkie, 1/4 monkey, 1/4 mountain goat, and 1/4 human (at least in his opinion!)
