| Vacationing with the furbabies Yesterday we returned from a 10 day trip with 2 furbabies and a teen girl in the traveltrailer. Thought that I would share some of the things that I found helpful for our trip. We traveled in a truck, pulling the trailer. Mina (yorkie) in her carseat and Amigo (chihuahua) on a safety tether next to his mommy in the backseat. I kept in the truck for furbabies (waterbottle, treats, chew toys, collapsable waterbowl and leashes). I prefer the smaller collapasable bowl,I found it at Camping World, the area petstores only had the larger bowls. This one fits in the cupholder in the console. Each of the babies had a wire crate in the trailer, incase we had to leave them. Mina wears clothes most days and has hair bows to go with her outfits. I put a safety pin on each dress to put the matching hairbow on for packing. I used an older, hard makeup/traincase as a trunk for her things and there was room to spare. It held her clothes, comb, hairbands, toys and her blankets. I found it at GoodWill for $5.00. We also took a softside play yard that folds down flat, size med. It was worth every penny I spent on it. The babies were safe,in the shade with a mesh net over them as well to keep the bugs out. We spent an entire day walking Sturgis,SD with the babies in a stroller and they had a blast. They werent walking on the hot pavement or being held by a hot person. They were both tethered in,using the tethers that go in the car. One big ole biker walked by and said "the cutie with the hairbow must be enjoying her first rally". I told him that it wasn't her first rally and she loves the motorcycles. All in all we had a great time! Mina even spotted a tiny baby squirrel and got to run it up a tree. It would come back down to check her out and she didn't even bark. I would love to hear what things others have found to make their trips with furbabies easier. |

| Awww...I would love to see pics! Sounds like you all had fun! Do you all go on the RAT ride? My mom and dad go. But they have yet to go to Sturgis. We don't get to go off island with her because to bring her back would be almost impossible without hassles. But we do go camping and I bring her crate, playpen, and essentials. The tent we have is great because it has a little "room" in the front. There she has her water, food, and pee pad. She has yet to set foot on the outdoor ground. She hasn't had all her shots yet but will be getting the last one soon. And we go camping again in a couple of weeks.

| We camp with horses and Bella seems to like it. Better than being left behind. I take jammies, peepads, blankets and hair bows. We use a ex-pen at our campsite with carpet. Lots of walks and of coarse wet wipes for her feet before bed. She also rides the horses with us. |

| we don't camp with horses but we do 4 wheel, I strap Izabellas car seat behind me and strap her in. At first she was quite nervous but she has gotten used to it. She really has fun. When we stop I let my dh and his dog get ahead of us a bit. Izzy will put her little feet up on my shoulder until I get going. She doesn't want to get left behind. I defintly use baby wipes for dirty feet before bedtime. Usually I wipe her all down after 4 wheeling cause she is quite dusty.

| Sounds like so much fun! I love vacationing with Jackson. He enjoys it so much and I love having him with me. My dad has an RV and we bring all the dogs -- I go occasionally on vacation with them and Jackson has the time of his life. He is nervous about the actual traveling part in the RV though but once we are stopped he's fine. We bring 3 expens and make a fence so we can let the dogs out the door. My mom and stepdad also go to Gettysburg every year and Jackson has been twice and he LOVES it, does so well in the hotel and loves walking the streets. He's been a great traveler so far.
