| Once, when Jesse was still alive and sick, I had to take him in and they would not even see him til we gave them the amount that they had calculated for an overnight stay. I would have left my car and walked the ten miles home if I needed to. Another time, when we first got Cruiser, he was tiny and not eating well enough, and I took him to my vet who felt he needed to be monitored on IV's and Oxygen so we picked him up and took him there. They made us pay $750.00 before they would put him on OXYGEN!!!! |

| We also have many 24 hour 365 day emergency vet hospitals in our area. Ours also requires a deposit just to be put on the list to be seen and then the remainder up front once the diagnosis has been made before they will proceed with any further treatment. They definitely have the corner on emotional blackmail. While I can always come up with what ever they want between savings, credit cards I feel bad for those that can't and leave with their pets in their arms in tears. There is no such thing as working out payment arrangements around here.

| Our regular vet is my 24 hr vet... We are in a rural and I mean rural area, closest town if 17 miles and that vet isn't worth a darn... So I drive 45 miles to the best vet in the area.... We do what we have to for our babies....

| As I understand it, all the Vets in my area get together and rotate who will be open on any peticular time. There is always someone to go to, just call and who ever is on duty will see you. I never had to pay up front, though it was always pretty expensive, but I think mainly because it was a bad situation that would have been costly in any case! |
