| Man Reunited Because of Dogs Microchip... Who would have thought that a dogs microchip would help him be returned to his family? This man had dementia and the only ID on him was the dogs ID. Here's the story: Missing man reunited with family with help from a dog's collar | KING5.com Seattle Now I'm wondering if micro chips for people might be a good idea. What do you think??? Maybe with GPS so when our older parents wander away we can locate them.

| Honestly, I think it will come to this. We will either have to have them on our forehead or our hand.... There's biblical implications regarding it, and I hope I'm long gone before it ever happens.

| It would probably be a good idea for some, we have had at least 4 people with dementia wander off in the past few weeks. One of the lady was found 3 counties away in someones back yard deceased. she wandered away from a nursing facility in Georgia. Unfortunately this probably happens more than we know.

| Good Bless Stanley and those two little dogs. Kudos to the lady who stopped and helped. About five years ago I sat next to a lady on an airplane who worked for a company that offered GPS devices for people with dementia, at that time she talked about embedding a chip in people but it was more of a GPS type device. Thank goodness for happy endings.

In some nursing homes, people with dementia wear an ankle bracelet just like people that are on house arrest. There are facilities that just use key pad door locks for each wing but these are places that specialize in dementia/alzhimers. | |
