| Update on Choco: Microchip Question Choco is still not found. I have posted flyers everywhere and contacted the microchip company. All the shelters are aware that he is lost. HE is microchipped, but was not collared. I have a question. Worst scenario, that he is either hit by car, bitten by a coyote (our neighborhood is residential but there are small hiking trails), would the city pick up dead dogs and check for microchips before they bury him? Or do they just bury them like they would bury dead rabbits? I'm so heartbroken. My backyard is tightly sealed but he still managed to dig a hole under and get out. Thank you all for your concerns. I really appreciate it. I hope that he returns home soon, but it's been a week and I am starting to lose hope. I just hope that he is at least living and well, with someone who doenst know that he is microchipped and doesn't nkow how to return him home. Even though I still think that they shouldve sent him to the shelter without keeping the dog if it's not theirs. |

| I am willing to bet they don't bother checking. It would be wonderful if there was a way to track a dog via satellite or gps or something. I think they need to get a little more high tech with the chips and locating services. |

| I hope you find choco soon!! I know hes out there!! Continue calling vets shelters etc and post posters and also on sites like craigslist or kijiji See, sometimes i have my doubts about the microchips because if a dog died they probably wont check it because theyre dead, if its stolen vets dont check it.... Like others have mentioned, doggie gps in a form of a microchip...i would defo pay big bucks for one...

| I am so sorry that Choco is missing. Your heart must be breaking. I will pray that he is safe and will be returned to you. I had a Lab puppy Sweet Abbey, years ago that was dognapped from a 6ft fenced yard. I ran after the truck and got part of the tag number. The police seemed totally indifferent. Almost 2 years later I swear I saw Sweet Abbey in the back of a truck at Lowes. I waited until the people came back. I talked with them. Seems like the dog just showed up on their strawberry farm. Skinny, afraid and very pregnant. After a few days they got her to eat by leaving food in a building with the door open. She had the pups which they found homes for and had her spayed. She had been with them about a year. He said to me "She is best darn dog I ever had, can't believe somebody dumped her like that." She nuzzeled the man and he absently scratched her ears. I said me either and walked away. I said to myself, good bye Sweet Abbey. Last edited by Teresa Ford; 07-30-2011 at 08:33 AM. |

| I am sad that you still don't have Choco home with you, you continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. I am not sure how they handle dogs if they find them deceased. I pray this isn't how they find Choco. You might want to update some of your info, I know if I see a sign that has been up a while I wonder if the animal is still missing or the owner just didn't remove the sign.

| I'm sorry to hear that Choco is still missing. My prayers continue to be with you and Choco. I pray for his safe return home. Have you contacted the OC Humane society? They should be able to provide you with more information regarding this matter. Wish I could help!
