| Is dressing your dog so uncommon?? I had Pita out yesterday, furniture shopping, (she loves that) and she had her Thanksgiving dress/harnness on, it's second nature to me to put things on her especially her harness dresses cuz then I hook her right into her console carseat and we're off. More than once yesterday, people stopped me, as they always do when I have her out, and commented on her dress and how spoiled she was cuz I dressed her and you should have heard one lady when I said she had a carseat and the harness dress made it easier to hook her in! Pita has a lot of stuff and clothes, but I am keeping her safe and warm. She is obedience trained and plays outside and gets down and dirty like a regular dog, she also gets discipline and all that, so is that really spoiled? Am I that weird??? On here it doesn't seem odd but in the general public people act like I'm off the wall for dressing her and taking her as many places as I can, etc. Do you get these reactions from people or am I overeacting? |

| I get them all the time. When I explain that they need clothes to keep warm and if they need em they might has well look cute most people understand, but some people still think I'm a psycho weirdo. I went shopping yesterday at the petsmart plaza and I need to go to bed, bath & beyond and shoe carnivale and I couldn't leave him in the car so I took his bag and took him along. no one even seemed to notice except for a couple of kids. But my mom acted like i broke the cardinal rule of shopping. She's like you took him in those stores and I was like he was in his bag and quiet and I wasn't gonna leave him in the car. Some people just don't understand and I think a lot of people feel it's just for attention. And yes I spoil the crap out of my dog because he deserves it because he gives me so much love and enjoyment (did that sound dirty to anyone else, maybe it's just me).

| I think the only people who feel that way are those who aren't as blessed as we are to share our lives with our furry babies!! When I told someone that I was going to purchase a car seat for my dog they looked at me like I was insane. People don't understand that having a dog is like having a child and we need to keep them as safe and warm as we would our own human children. Nikko has sweaters and coats (it is getting pretty chilly out here in NY and winter hasn't even begun) and I just bought him some boots. If people think I am weird, so be it but my dog is going to be taken care of. |

| I think its only common amongst people with small dogs. The rest of the world doesnt get it. This is why I actually dont take chloe or tink out of the house too much. I cant walk 2 step in a store without a bunch of people crowding around the dressed up dogs. I prefer to run my errands as quickly as possible and found that it was too frustrating when I had the dogs. Which is a shame because I enjoy them and enjoy dressing them up but the rest of the world isnt ready for my dogs BUt I dont thinks it weird. I love dressing up my dogs!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I so agree - when Kimberly and I were at the doggie park the other day - Chanel and Cheri were the ONLY little dogs in harnesses - they looked a bit prissy compared to all the dogs out there but I don't CARE !! I LOVE them in dresses ...oh....and they acted kind of prissy too lol - they get intimidated by all the dogs at those parks and totally change into mommies girls - but that's ok - I'd rather have them with me than running around |

| I get the same reaction. People think I'm insane (even my family). That's why YorkieTalk is so great - it is a reminder that there are other poeple out there that are just as crazy as me (or even crazier!)!!!

| Yep! People think I'm weird too! Like it has been getting colder here, so I want Lucky in his sweater before he goes out so he doesn't get cold. And if anybody is over they always laugh at me, even my husband! And people especially thought I was weird when I told them I was going to a "puppy party" (our meet-up)! They thought that was the craziest thing in the world to have a get together for your dogs to play! Oh well, guess they'll never understand unless they are yorkie owned! |

| Its really uncommon here! I dont put dresses on because people look at you like your weird. I put sweaters and tshirts on but you still get looks and comments. The only place I talk about dressing my dog is here cause I know everyone can relate here.

| Its not common here to dress dogs either, there was a program on tv about that last saterday, they interviewed a shopkeeper that sells pet clothes, i was quite surprised at the nice reactions she was getting, i was like YES WTG they call it "trendy dogs" here, the only thing that im worried about is that people will want to keep up with "a trend" without realizing that buying a puppy is forever, not just an assesorie

| I get that all the time too. I think they are wishing they had a furbaby just like Princess, so they could spoil one too.
