| Can you recommend an electric or battery operated toothbrush? When we rescued our Yorkie last March, he already had alot of tartar build up on his teeth even though he was only 2 years old. We took him to the vet for a dental. When our vet called to report she had finished the procedure and he was awake, she really "read me the riot act" on how important it is to brush his teeth EVERY DAY. Fortunately, he's very easy to handle and LOVES the taste of doggy toothpaste, so it hasn't been hard to follow the Doctor's orders. But I remember that when I switched from manual brushing to a SoniCare toothbrush, I was astonished on how much cleaner my teeth felt. So I'm thinking that I'd do a better job on Wendell's teeth with some sort of electric or battery toothbrush. But I have two concerns; noise and size. Have any of you found an electric or battery toothbrush quiet enough that it doesn't startle your dog? Have you found one with a brush head that is small enough for a 5 lb dog? |

| I bought a childrens battery operated toothbrush but it scared the carp out of them. I dremel their nails-I think they thought I was filing their teeth too.

| I'll try putting him up on the counter while I'm brushing my teeth with my Sonicare and see what he thinks of the sound of it. |

| I tried Oral B and a couple of others and there is nothing quieter or safer for the gums than the Sonic Care. My guys are scared of the Sonic Care too.

| I use the Braun Oral B toothbrush with Cali. Started by just just putting the toothpaste on it and working it (not on) around her mouth and then gradually started to turn it on from time to time. She likes the toothpaste taste and that helped alot. Does she love it - NO, but she does tolerate it and lets me do it and now she is used to it. Be patient!
