For fleas, you can wash him in dawn dish washing soap. Also make sure you launder all his bedding, your clothes, anything that might have fleas. Then you might even want to spray your carpet and furniture. It's tough getting rid of fleas cause they might be hiding anywhere and their eggs... Also vacuum a lot and make sure you empty the bag. You might want to spray or treat your yard too. We use a brand from home depot that's natural. For food, there's lots of good ones. Our dog liked origin puppy. Now we feed his primal raw and he's doing well on it. Good luck!

Yea!!! Congratulations on your new fur-baby and welcome to YT. There are sooo many food options for these little guys. Mine are eating Wellness Small Breed Just for Puppies. I got it at Petsmart and it was about 13.00 for a 4lb bag. They really do not eat a lot so smaller bags are a good choice to keep the food nice a fresh. I think the 20lb bag would last for years - LOL. The Wellness Small Breed is a very small bite dog food. They also have Wellness Just for Puppy that has a little bigger bites. Both will work for Yorkie puppies. For the fleas, whichever product you choose for your pup, be sure to wash all of the bedding that your puppy will use in hot water. I would re-treat a few times to make sure they are all gone. Be sure to have a lot of patience with potty training. Yorkies are super smart and super stubborn. I have had my two home with me for about month and we are going pretty good with the potty training. I would say they are going on their potty pads about 85% of the time - so getting there.

Congratulations on the new addition to your family. My only suggestion is to get your pup to the vet ASAP for shots and they will give you some worm and flea treatments. Our little Ozzy came with fleas but after one treatment, no more fleas! This site does have lots of great info. Read, read, read!

Hi and welcome! We feed our dogs Nature's Variety and our last 2 puppies ate it since the time we got them. We basically did an instant switch, even though people say not to do it that way. They wouldn't eat their puppy food though so they ate the Nature's Variety right away. It is an all life stages food and our dogs have done very well on it and really like it. We free feed since we have 4 dogs (had 5 at one time). We use a LeBistro feeder and keep food in it all the time. We also have one for water so they have water available all the time too. Can't help you with the fleas but sounds like others have given sound advice.
