| Changing location of potty pads My Brandi has been doing absolutely wonderful using the potty pads. As a result, she now is allowed to roam the house when I'm not home. She uses the potty pads in the middle of the night and when I'm at work. But when I am home, we go out on daily walks and she has no problem with pottying outside. My delimma is that I would like to change the location of her potty pad. I start potty pad training her by placing the potty pads where she had the most accidents which unfortunately for me is in a corner in my living room. As long as I put the potty pad in that exact same location, she will use it everytime. However, if I move it even just an inch, she won't use it. For obvious reason, I would like to change it to one of the powder rooms, that no one uses but I can't get her to go anywhere else. I have made sure that no scent is left behind by thoroughly cleaning the area with Nature's Miracle and other enyme base products to no avail. I have tether her to me in hopes of catching her the in act so that I can take her to the new location to potty to no avail. Am I doom to having potty pads in the living room which really sucks big time? She hated her expen because she was a rescue that was confine to a small crate her whole life and to be honest for the first two years I had her, it didn't stop her from pottying in her sleeping area as that was what she was use too anyway. Any suggestions? |

| Move it a few inches every day until you finally get it in the location where you want it to be.

| I've tried that and the result is she won't use the potty pad at all. How do I get her to use the potty pad when I move it a few inches at a time? I have tried even moving the potty pad with pee still on it so that she knows to use the potty pad. She is just too stubborn for words. I can see another battle of wills happening again. |

| I had to retrain my dogs to go on the pad in our TV room. Normally, I did not have a pad there, but when we got the third puppy, he needed a pad placed down. One of my dogs took to the relocation without a problem but my older male dog will not --he insists that he be able to use the one he's always used. I would just try to encourage and food reward and make her go on it when you know she has to go. Good luck!

| I had to move Cricket's years ago, and she was definitely resistant! I moved the pad, watched her like a hawk, would guide her to new location, and then give her her absolutely FAVORITE treat to eat. I would only give her that treat after pottying there. She caught onto if she wanted that treat, that was the place to go.
