| Owning 2 Puppies! What are your views on owning 2 pups from the same litter? I've just seen this discussion in a magazine and wondered what yours where! |

| I think is it great so they can grow up together and have a play mate. I have 4 Yorkies, 3 are from the same doggie parents but different litters.

| Personally I love it. My 2 youngest are sisters, and have been the biggest joy ever. I love the way they play together, even at 2 yrs old., yet they both adore me; and they have very distinct different personalities. Obviously costs are double for vet, food, etc. I know breeders often advise against it, but my experience has been all good. There are other factors to consider too, some say training is harder. For me it isn't, but I'm home full time with them (any my 2 other furgirls that are 3).

| I at one time had 3 male poodles, two from the same litter (they were the entire litter) and one is a half brother. One of the brothers passed away suddenly in March, broke my heart. The other brother and half brother are now 9yrs old. I have truely enjoyed watching them grow up together and always have someone to play with, but the other thing that I am now coping with is middleage together. Both of the boys that are here have CT,they were both born with it and are now taking meds for it. All three of them have brought soooo much joy into the house but helping Buddie adjust to the death of his twin was not easy and he still looks for him. With all that being said ,would I do it again,no I dont think so. But the memories that they have all brought into my life I would not trade in for anything. |

| Emma and Carmel are from different breeders and got them 3 months apart, but they are practically brother and sister. They grew up together and Emma really loves her brother! I really liked having two at once Although they are 2 months apart, we usually celebrate their bday together too.

| I have a mother and daughter, and they get along fine. My next door neighbor has the two brothers from the same litter. They get along great. She will bring them over to see their mama for a vist. She will tell her babies they are going to visit their "Grandma", which is me. I think it's kinda neat.

| Allie and Noah are from the same breeder, different parents/lines and are 3 months apart. For the most part they act like siblings, although for the last week Allie has taken on a mommy role. I can only assume it's because she understands he was sick and needs to be handled with care a little longer. I went to the breeder to get a girl. I came back with both, and so glad I did!

| I got Abby and Max three weeks ago (hard to believe it has only been three weeks!!) from the same breeder - the have the same dad but different mom. Max is about about three weeks older than Abby. They get along great. I did a lot of research on-line, talks to people with two dogs, and read a lot of the pros and cons. So far, I have only seen the pros. They love each others company, but they are also independent. Their personalities are so different. At first they would sleep together on their beds or blankets, but now they pick different ones. So glad I decided to get two. Yes, the potty training is a little more time consuming, but they are catching on pretty well. I have a tube of peanut butter I got from PetSmart and when one of them goes on the potty pad I squeeze out a tiny bit for their reward. When the other sees this, that one will run to the pad to potty also. Too funny - I have seen some tiny pee marks! Last edited by AbbyMax; 07-03-2011 at 05:06 AM. Reason: complete sentence |

| We came home with a boy and girl from the same litter and then read on line all the advice about what a bad idea it was to raise two puppies at the same time. Well, it was too late by then so we just had to work it out. It was very, very hard work to raise two puppies at the same time. I don't think being from the same litter made any difference with that. Other than the extra work, time and effort involved, everything else was all pros. They play together and are very bonded to each other but also extremely bonded to us. Now that they are just over 2, it's great to have two. If I could do it over, I'm not sure I would get two pups at the same time. Now that all the hard part is done, I love it, but it was hard work to get to this point. I think it really depends on how much time and energy you have to devote to the training and attention that a puppy requires. I would not recommend trying to do it alone. We had to really work as a team or we were outnumbered. I guess it's a bit like having twins as skin kids. |

YT 1000 Club Member | I have 5 Yorkies right now. 2 are brothers from the same litter they get along just like brothers. The other 3 are my girls one is the mom and the other 2 are sisters that I have held back to see if they will go in the ring like their parents. They all get along very well.
