| Just saw Princess snarl for the 1st time ever! ...And she's almost a year & a half old! My BFF came over with her 9m.o. son & brought her Boston Terrier, Rascal, too. We live in the same complex so we've been to her house quite a few times & have met up outside to walk together, etc. before. Princess has always received him well. She does bark like crazy at other dogs outside on the property but that's really it. So he came in & they took off running-she does this, playing, in turbo mode. My friend came in, set a huge can of beer on the coffee table & Princess flies up there sending the beer everywhere in my L.R.! Basically because she is scared? Once we cleaned that up & I tried to make it smell like less of a brewery I sat down & tried to hold Princess. Rascal stayed back from her maybe 2 ft. We noticed she is showing her teeth! She also tried to lunge at him, luckily he's so passive, he'd just dodge her. She's never done this in her life, ever. She gets along with my moms & two sisters dogs, 2 of were are bigger than Rascal. Was she just doing this because we were at home? When I gave them treats Princess sniffed him then played a little for a bit, then she went back on the defense a short time later. I'd like to add another yorkie, probably in 4 years, is this a sign it'd never work?

| Maybe because it is on her turf. I am not sure. Rosie hasn't done that when I have had other dogs over. I am just guessing. I think it could be a territory thing. The beer was just an accident. Lol. I can figure that one out!!

| I agree I think bc it was on her territory. Whenever there's a puppy in Uni's bed or toys she gets so pissed! LOL But if they are out on neutral territory, she is fine. She's never tried to snap at another dog before, but she did try to snap at a crackhead (a real one) once who picked her up. Uni says no to drugs! haha!

| Calvin will do this with our friends' dog too. He will show his teeth and growl when he is on my lap, and she gets within 2 feet of us. He will also attack her, and we are trying to watch for any signs before he does, but so far it's just mostly when he's close to me. I think he is trying to "protect" me? |

She was wild, I have lines all the way up my neck from where she tried to crawl up my head.

I know what you mean He seems to go after her a little more after they have been playing for awhile. Almost like he gets tired and cranky. He doesn't care if we are at our house or their house, as far as the fighting goes. If you have any ideas or find something that works please let me know | |

| Jackson is the most laid back gentle soul and is very non-growly or confrontational, etc. However, if I am holding him and there is a dog that is not being polite and jumping up and getting in his face, he will do a snarl. Actually, not to be a "breedist" (if that's a word? LOL) but a lot of dogs aren't fond of Boston Terriers play style. They are often very unique and very bouncy and use their paws a lot... some dogs just don't like that. Like I said, Jackson pretty much loves every single dog he meets. Almost literally. But I think he feels more vulnerable up in my arms, especially if a dog is jumping up at him, etc. I wouldn't necessarily worry too much about it -- just keep her socialized, etc, and I'm sure all will be fine!

| I have the most passive shih tzu. Sometimes when he plays with Remy and she is telling him off in dog language I will see his lip twitch. It is the funniest thing.. then he will growl and jump at her and they go round and round. If you could hear them play you would think they are killing each other. When we walk there is a chi that runs out of its house and "attacks" my guys.. they tuck tail and run between my legs. My two boys are bigger and I often wonder why they don't stand up to it. One of my guys stood up to a large lab to protect me, so I get confused. So you little fur but is either playing, or not happy with the bt- I think we know which Good luck and have fun
