Senior Yorkie Talker | hi there, my yorkie female is nearly a year and a half old now and still does little "excitement wee's" when she sees us. the only thing i can suggest to you which has helped us cut down the amount of accidents that our Millie has is when you come home, dont say anything to your dog and dont fuss it but let it straight out for a wee, making sure it has had one then when she comes back in then you can fuss her and say hellos. also do this if you are expecting friends or visitors round just before they arrive. hope this helps! x

This is exactly what I did when Mrs. Beasley was young. It worked. But now at 9 years old, she doen't have "excitement wee's" anymore.

Senior Yorkie Talker | it works really well with our Millie and we also had the problem of her needing a wee really bad at 3 in the morning EVERY Morning!! she used to wake up and just go on the bed or on the carpet by the door which as you understand isnt great at anytime never mind at 3am!!! we managed to teach her that if she wants a wee, she wakes one of us up and we will let her out. shes doing really well with this at the moment which is good!!!

| My Bella, when she was a puppy would tinkle when she got all excited when I would come home from the store or from out to dinner...she out grew it...I never did anything special...I just kept her in her play yard until we got done with our hellos, than I would take her outside to potty...she stopped doing it around 8 months old...its hard for puppies to hold it...especially when excited...she will more than like out grow it when she can control her self better.

| My dog does this all the time as well, sometimes before we make completely inside to fuss about her! She has gotten better if someone is home we'll carry her to meet whoever is coming in the door and hand her off to them & she doesn't pee. However, we have tried and tried and can't get her to totally stop so we found some humor in it and bought her a shirt that says, "I'm so happy I could pee!" |

| I have had poms that do this and chis,it must be a toy breed thing. They all outgrew it. Never scold them for piddling when excited. If you are having guests, carry baby to the door with you and then take them straight outside after saying hi. I usually either keep them in my lap while we have guests or put them in their pen, until they get a little older. |
