| Circus or No Circus??? Ok... My plan was to take Muffin and my baby to the Shrine Circus tonight. Never gave any thought to animal cruelty at the circus. But after looking at some things on Circus.com, I feel horrible for wanting to go and support the Circus. Does anyone go or not go to the Circus? I went in past. But it just sucks that I cant take my family to Circus because I would feel awful the whole time! And there are non-animal Circuses? Wouldnt that be a little boring with no animals? Anyways I feel bad but still kinda wanna go!!!!!!!! Am I awful to go to the Circus even though theses animals are put through torture to perform for us humans? Any insight please! MuffinsMom |

| Ya know I love this circus, I have never thought of the circus as animal cruelty. Maybe I am a dunce. We got to see animals being taken care of after a circus once, it didn't look inhumane to me. I will have to check the website. But I have always loved the circus! |

| I think the stories of animal cruelty is hyped. I just hate it when we go to the Ringling Bros Circus and there Are protesters there and they harass you as you are going in with your children. Ringling Bros. puts out a pamplet on how they care for their animals. I have been to the Shrine Circus many times and enjoy it also. I would go and enjoy yourself.

| Just Me... I am a bit odd..I do not like to see animals of any kind perform for a living..to earn their keep. When someone asks if my Yorkies can do any tricks, it is like asking if my kids can play dead, rollover etc...I know it is cute to see a trained dog do tricks, but I just don't do it..I agree with training for OB..that is life saving and makes them a good pet. Sit. stay, no jumping on people..same things we teach our kids. I hate Sea World..I know we need to save marine life and study it..but why make them do tricks? Can't do the trained elepant thing either...but I do love Lion Country where they are more free then a zoo...JMO..I said I was odd. |

| There were many sites about animal cruelty, but the one that got my attention was when I looked up the Shrine circus which is in town here. The site was Circus.com.There is a video on how they train the elephants to do tricks. They zap them with laser guns, whip them, and peirce them with items, even when they are just standing minding their business! I just saw clip and left site, so didnt see how others were treated. And yes Barnum and Ringles (or whatever they are called) are also into doing this to their animals. The site tries to get you to go to animal free circuses. Its really sad. Its kinda messed up too though, that people (myself) get angry at things like this but still eat meat lol. YKWIM? So I really dont know. But main point is the Circus, before I get in another subject and type a book! MuffinsMom |

| circuses are hideous I would never take my children to one.It is appalling how the animals are treated. The poor elephants are chained in barns (ive seen photos),and transported all over the country from town to town.I adore elephants and have read alot about them and what an un natural life they lead in the circus just to keep us entertained.Punch elephant sanctuary into the computor and read some of the appalling rescues they have done.Im sorry I sound harsh It is just my opinion.

| Well my mind is made up. I am not going to the circus tonight, even though I would love to! Poor aminals! I love to hear what all have to say. I feel like going over there even by myself to hand out flyers or something! Someday I guess. The sad thing is, is that I dont think these things will ever stop. Too many people, money=greed, and lack of hearts. Anyways, guess I will go shopping for Muffin and son instead lol. MuffinsMom |

| No Circus!!! NO WAY NO HOW TO THE CIRCUS. If you want to stop animal cruelty then don't support the circus. For instance, Ringling has one of the highest elephant and elephant infant mortality rates. They get those elephants to do those tricks by breaking their spirit- by starvation, beating, electric prods and numerous other horrific ways. Not to mention the other animals. Do you know what happens to the animals when their time at the circus is done- they are sold to those sport hunting ranches. Need there be anymore said about this. I did several papers in college on animal cruelty and circuses and did alot of research on this subject. Stop the circle of cruelty. If you don't go then they have one less person surpporting them. Then tell as many people as you can. Stop the circle of cruelty.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I'm not into the circus either because of the way the animals are treated - they DO break their spirit and it's just a personal thing of mine not to go. |

| I won't go anymore. Years ago I watched a program about circus elephants being trained. The trainers were beating the heck out of them. I am never surprised when I see elephants killing their trainers, I am surprised it doesn't happen more often. Cirque de soleil does not use animals and I think that is an incredible show.

| No circus for me, either. Barnum & Bailey's is in Chicago now and it makes me sick when I see the ads.
