| OMG, What a Screw Up! Well, it has now been going on four days and DH and I have yet to recover. I took the boys in for their regular groom on Wednesday and this was the first time Miss Lisa was not there to greet us. Her husband, who helps her out sometimes, explained that she was expected back in a few minutes. Since he was familiar with my boys I felt safe to leave them with him, as Lisa knows how I want the boys clipped. However, I let him know that Neo and Connor was to have their coats taken down for summer, leaving Neo's leg feathers and mustache alone, but my BIG mistake was not being specific about Connor. I did NOT tell him to leave his head alone, but I being as Lisa knows this, I didn't think it was necessary. Several hours later, he called (which was also unusual) to let me know the boys were ready. When I got there Lisa came in an gave me a "heads up" that there had been a "problem" with Connor. Imagine bringing in two beautiful, if shaggy, yorkies and leaving with a yorkie and a flat-ironed looking naked poodle! Yes, the husband shaved Connor, including his face! The only hair with any length at all is on top of his head, and it is a hot mess, too! Needless to say, I was not charged and Lisa was furious with hubby, but the damage is done. I'm just glad that Connor doesn't have an ego, or he would be walking around with a bag over his head. My DH was almost in tears he was SO mad, and now he won't let me do business with her anymore. It will take the rest of the year and then some for Connor to look anything like himself again. One day I'll listen to my inner voice when it warns me to wait !!! |

| Does the husband usually help out in the grooming shop? I am sorry, I would not be pleased if I found out that my groomers husband had groomed my dogs- he is a nice guy and I would be fine with him watching them, but he is not a groomer and I would not be okay with him grooming them.

| OMG, I am so sorry! I would be absolutely furious! Plus, it's so hard to find a good groomer that you like and now you can't even bring either of your babies back to the woman! It's awful! I hear these stories and I just think man, I gotta learn how to do grooming myself!

| Oh I can so relate. I took my little guy in for a grooming, and told them to cut him short for summer but to leave his head and mustache alone, just trim if neccasary. pretty clear, no? Well....I went back to pick him up and they brought this dog out to me. I said you must be mistaken my dog is a yorkie not a chihuahua(this was our first time there so I thought they just made a mistake), they said, this is your dog, i looked closer and sure enough it was my little man, My mouth dropped open and the only thing I could say was What did you do to my dog?????? They looked at me as if to say what are you talking about we groomed him like you asked.....I lost my mind and started to cry right then. I did not even recognize my own little boy!!!!! needless to say we never went back again.

| OMG! I would be beyond furious! That sucks. I have a mobile groomer that I could not more pleased with and if for some reason someone else was driving her van or with her, I would be VERY concerned, just like you were. That stinks!

| Sigh. I'm seeing this at just the right time. I just picked up Lucy and Ringo from the groomer. Her little face looks adorable - but they did shave her body. She looks like a chi with deer legs! I know that the groomer probably had to because she was matted all around where her harness goes. We've done a lot of walking these past few weeks. But, still. I like short hair but not shaved. Poor baby.

| I'm so sorry this happened to you & hubby...Connor probably feels pretty good...naked maybe, but good. Try to think positive...Connor will be really cool this summer and it will grow back. This stinkie part is it takes so darn long....but I know your boy is still as gorgeous Trying to make you both feel much better, hope it helped .

| Thanks, Guys! We're beginning to get used to Connor's new look, but miss his "old " one terribly. DH is still fuming and knowing him, he'll wind up having a few words with groomer & hubby. It seems to make him feel better when he gets his point across, and promises to "be nice about it". |

Senior Yorkie Talker | awwww poor baby!!!! poor little thing!! im so lucky with Millies groomer,i found her by asking every dog owner i knew if they could recommend a good groomer and the majority of them pointed me in her direction. i took Millie there first when she was about 5 months old to introduce her to her and to check her out (as anyone would) and booked her in for a tidy up as she was too young for a cut or trim but i thought it would be good for her to get used to the groomer and the process of being clipped whilst she was young. The first time i took Millie in for a proper cut, i was unsure of what i wanted so the groomer, Gill, showed me some pictures of other yorkies before and after clipping but i was still abit unsure of the style i wanted so she just said she would do what she thinks id like after seeing the other yorkies pictures. when i went to pic her up she had scissor cut her all over and trimmed her legs, tail, ears, face and mouth to a short-mid length and i loved it. Every time i go now i tell her i want it a little shorter than the first time but i have made it clear that i NEVER want my dog shaved at all in any way but if she needs to go extra extra short if there are any matts or anything than to call me first and double check which she was fine with. my advice is to ask around like i did from other dog owners for them to refer any good groomers to you, go in and have a chat with the groomer and look at photos of other dogs they have clipped before. good luck finding a new groomer and youll have to buy your bald baby a new jumper!! x x x
