| Advise please..blood in his poop My little Taz (6 mos.) had blood in his poop today when I got home from work. Then a little while ago I saw him in his poopy stance, but all that came out was a little drop of blood. Could he be constipated? I don't think he's eaten anything different. He is acting normal; doesn't seem to feel bad or be uncomfortable. Any advise will be appreciated. Linda |

| My little Rowdy has a bit of a sensitive GI tract and he gets diarrhea off and on - my vet lets me treat it myself (within parameters, e.g., he's eating, not lethargic) UNLESS there is blood in the poop, then I have to bring him in right away. So, I'm glad you are taking him to the vet. Mine give Rowdy a shot and it clears everything up in a few hours.

| blood I would give a teaspoon of Kao and wait a day...unless blood is pouring out. Sounds like his colon is irritated. Good Luck |

| This happened to Samson a few days after we got him neutered. We were giving him pain meds once a day and on about the 3rd or 4th day when we went to get him up out of his crate there was diarrhea all over and when he got out he vomited. I think he may have tried to eat the poo because it was in his crate and that may have been why he got sick. I freaked out and called the vet right away!!!! Thank god it was a Sat. and not a Sun. and I was able to take him in a couple hours later. The vet said it was the meds that were bothering his stomach and the blood was a sign of irritation. He gave him a shot for infection just in case and a shot to help his tummy and we had to give him an oral antibiotic for 8 days just in case. That day he kinda slept a lot but after that he was fine. Poor baby. |

That's what I had decided to do today, but this morning his poop looked ok. I had forget to say that a couple days ago his poop was really hard little balls. So I'm thinking he was just irritated. If I do see any today, I will definitely call the vet. Thanks for all the advise. | |

| stool Okay, if it is very hard balls, then it probably made a small tear coming out. It is good to know what is a vet ER and what is not. A hard stool is not a pancreatic problem..a watery stool full of blood and mucus is..and you need the vet ASAP. Good Luck |
