| Ali's Adventure I have recently been in the process of moving into a new house after the tornado came through Tuscaloosa. On Monday the 16th, my WORST fear happened (yes, even bigger than a tornado destroying half of my town). As I was unloading things into the new house, Ali ran outside without me knowing. Tuff and Huck were in the backyard so apparently they didn't see her either. I asked my boyfriend if he had seen her and he said she was probably hiding in the house. I looked and looked and called and called. Then panicked because Ali always comes when I call her. We soon realized she was GONE! I ran up and down the street calling for her. Nothing. We then went door to door asking people if they had seen her. No one had. I was terrified that someone had picked her up and wasn't going to bring her back despite my name and number being on her tag. I immediately made a poster and printed off several copies hanging them all over town. We then went to city hall, and a really nice police officer helped us look. Nothing. Long story short after a long night of no sleep and crying my eyes out, we got a phone call about 1:30 on Tuesday (an hour past the 24 hour mark that she had been missing) that someone had seen a yorkie walking on the train tracks about half a mile from our house and they had noticed she had on a pink collar. We flew over there and split up looking for her. Caleb found her inside an old warehouse. She was covered in kookaburras and her hair was matted, but after a good brushing, a bubble bath, some food, water, sleeping almost 12 hours, and a yogurt sundae she was recovered. I have never been so happy in my entire life, and I literally just thanked God for bringing her home safe! The sweetest part was Tuff, who had whined all night and howled for her, ran to her and they just showered each other in kisses. |
