| Toby hates big dogs and toddlers He was well socialised etc but hates having people in his face etc. Big dogs intimidate them and he gets quite defensive and could easily snap, same with kids that run at him and try to pet him (he has never snapped or bitten, but I absolutely wouldnt trust him with children he doesnt know). From what I hear its quite a yorkie thing, but would like to try and get him past the children issue, as we do want kids of our own. I do think that when its our own kids there wont be an issue because they will have grown up with him and he will be used to them by the time they become toddlers.

| MY Laci is not a fan of larger dogs either, she will growl a bit and then hide. As for small children, she does NOT Like if they run up and approach her , she did snap once , but we were at the park and a little boy around 5 charged at her and stuck his hand right in her face, even I didnt have time to respond. I do have a friend with a 3 and 4 year old and if they are at my house she will not growl or anything, she just goes upstairs and hides. They move to quickly , run around etc. She is fine when my daughters ( teenager) friends are here, infact she wants to part of what ever they are doing.

| Jackson is okay with most kids but it did not come naturally. He's always been great with my siblings (now 7 1/2 and 3 1/2) but strange kids would make him a bit more nervous. Now, he's actually REALLY good about kids. When children want to pet him out in public (and most DO ask, actually, which I appreciate), I tell them how to approach him and I usually carry treats in my pocket so they can give him one if they want. I started slow... I started taking him to my cousins little league games where lots of kids were present, we'd sit near the park where a lot of kids were on the jungle gyms, etc, and I'd give him a few treats just for watching them. Then we would start getting closer. I just always tried to make a positive association with them. He's a really shy dog so you just have to take things slow with him. He changed soo much within a year though. Now he will willingly go up to a child (probably cuz he thinks they have treats, LOL) and enjoy a nice pat on the head. As for big dogs, the same thing. I just started with dogs I knew, like my grandma's Lab, really gentle and really good with him, and I think he just learned they can be okay. I try not to allow him in situations that will make a negative impact on him because with him, it will stick w/ him FOREVER, he does not forget things, haha. This is pretty much how he acts with ANY kid who is willing to give him a treat, LOL

| Callie and my moms yorkie Sammy love little kids a lot. On halloween I actually take Callie to my parents neighborhood and she sits next to me in her stroller and after the kids get there candy then come to her and pet her. Callie loves loves loves big dogs but Sammy who was a rescue had been picked on by other dogs so were not sure how bad it was for him.

| Kiwi was in LOVE with big dogs, and so far Lola has shown the same behavior! But Kiwi was very weary of children, had never growled or bitten anyone but would just kinda hide behind me and my husband because of a negative experience where a toddler grabbed his hair hard and made him yelp So far the only child Lola has met was my 6 month old nephew and while he was fascinated with her we are going to be extremely careful with her to make sure she does not have a bad experience like Kiwi had

| Kaji HATES kids. There is one little boy that he enjoys playing with, one of Missy's neighbors. He is such a good kid! He listens to me and leaves Kaji alone when I see Kaji has had enough. That didn't come naturally either. It took a lot of time, and supervised contact. Kaji now enjoys his company. He does love all dogs. It's just kids he can't handle.

| Lucy loves kids bec ause they always give her what she craves most - attention. She's had only good experiences and I hope to keep it that way. If I sense that she's too tired from the walk or cranky ~ I just say no when they ask to pet her. She does NOT like big dogs and barks like crazy if one gets too close to her. I guess if I were 5 lbs, big dogs and other things might scare me too.

| Being afraid of something larger than you, at least seems normal. My ZoE is ok around big dogs, great danes, GSDs, dalmations, etc...but if a lil 2.5lb chihuahua walks near her, all 7.2lbs of my solid yorkie can't claw her way up my person & into my arms fast enough, all while making a loud crying noise. Quite embarassing

| Kiko does not like fast movements in her direction from anyone outside the family, regardless of age/size. She does fine with with kids who walk up and reach out in a slower, calmer way. Kids that run up cause her to flatten to the ground or start barking. If adults/older kids reach to quickly towards her she ducks. She has never snapped at anyone. I have found that most kids are pretty good about asking first, which is helpful because I can ask them to pet her slowly and gently, and to pat her on the the back or under her chin. For some reason people always want to pat the top of her head and she doesn't care much for strangers doing that (she ducks her head or turns away). Because of a couple of bad experiences with dogs who were off leash, she doesn't like any dog,and barks and kicks her back feet as if to say "stay away from me, I don't like you". I am working with her on it and we are making progress, slowly. |

| All 3 of ours are fine with my 2 yr old grandson, as well as other kids. They only snap at each other if there's a bully stick involved.

| Belle doesn't like any dogs other than the two she lives with. I'm working on socializing her by bringing her to the petstore at least once a week now. I think she needs to learn that other dogs are OK, regardless of size, so we will be going to a group obedience class starting in a few weeks As far as people are concerned, she only likes the ones she met as a puppy..... I guess we need to work on that, too.

YT 1000 Club Member | I was beginning to worry about Romeo because he refuses to play with dogs of ANY size AND children. He loves adults as long as they are not wearing hats, hoodies, or dark clothing!
