| O.K. 3 1/2 lbs. at 12 weeks equals........ I was wondering about a puppy weighing in at 3 1/2 lbs. at almost 12 weeks would be about .........how much? Charts say 7 lbs or better is that reliable?

| I thought it was triple at 8 weeks and double at 12 weeks. Any time I used the chart if I added a 1/2 - 1 lbs to what it said then it was about right. So my guess is 7 1/2 - 8 lbs which is a nice healthy size.

| I'm not sure if it's double or triple, but I'm with you on the weight! Max was 3.9 at 10 weeks and is now 13.6.

| Keep the answers coming, I think its quite interesting.....I want a little 4-5 lb baby this time around. I know it sounds stupid and of course it HAS to be healthy first. My Molly was 11 lbs. mattie is about 6 lbs, and abbeys is 5.5. Thankyou all in advance for helping me decide by the way.....

| Laci was 2.8 I think at 12 weeks and she is now just about 6.5-7 pds. I prefer them this size. She is still little , in my eyes anyways.

| Bella was 3.5 at 12 weeks...at a year old she was 8.6, stayed at that weight for over a year...she is almost 3 yrs old now and is 9.9 lbs Its really hard to guess what they will weigh as an adult...IMO those charts mean nothing...My Bailey was almost 3.5 lbs at 12 weeks and she was barely 5 lbs as an adult.

| Ziva was 3.5 lbs at 14 weeks, she now weighs a full 7 lbs at 2 years(putting on that last pound from 1 to 2 years). She is the same size as my youngest sons feet! I think she's a great size, she doesn't fit comfortably under the sofa anymore! |

I have heard three different things. (1) You double the weight at 12-weeks.... (2) You double the weight at 12-weeks and then add a pound.... and (3) My Vet told me that you Triple the weight at 12-weeks. Riley was about 3lbs. 5oz. at 12-weeks old. He turned 1-year, yesterday and he weighed in at 8lbs 2oz. last Tuesday, May 3rd. His Momma was 8lbs. and his Daddy was 4lbs.... I think he is the Perfect weight. Small enough to take anywhere but I'm not too worried about him jumping/running and playing with other pups that we run into in the city. | |
