| Big premium increase for Trupanion Today I received an e-mail that my premium for Zoey is increasing from $33 to $59!! This seems like a big jump to me. Has anyone else received this bad news? She is 1 yr 4 mos and I have not had a claim. Cherie

| Really?!?! No, I haven't heard anything about a rate increase. I just submitted my first claim with them earlier this week and I'm waiting to see what there claims process time is like.

| I have read plenty of sites from consumers complaining about the HUGE increase from trupanion. The companion says its because of rising vet costs in your area (bs), but that is the main reason why they do it. I'm glad I didnt go through them...Just google and you will find the complaints.. |

| I can vouch for the rising vet costs... My vet now charges $70 just for an examination fee..... I had to fork out $187.50 in a 2-week period for examination fees for some ear infections riley was having.... and trupanion doesn't reimburse for the examination fee. |

| I started this thread weeks ago and since then I have cancelled Trupanion and enrolled with AKC Petplan. I did have a $50 dedectible and it went to a $500 dedectible. Now I have $100 dedectible and will pay $33 per month. I was amazed at the huge increase and it is not comparable to the vet's increase. Cherie

| I ended up cancelling Trupanion 2-months ago... Now I just have the $43.77 a month put into a Savings Account, which earns interest, which I have set aside for Riley. I also add $100.00 a month to that account… and he has his own Mastercard, so we should be okay in the event anything were to happen. |

| This is an older thread. I see I said I had PetPlan but actually it is Pet Partners. I think your idea is a good one. You never know when it will be needed. Just a few weeks ago Zoey had a bout of pancreatitis. For one day at the vet's it was $976.00. My plan paid me $693.00. The preminum for the year was $3??.00. I was surprised that I received that much back. The vet bills add up fast. Good luck in your "health savings acct" and hope you never have to use it. Cherie
