| Bringing your YT into a restaurant...do you or don't you? DH and I had a little discussion earlier about this suject, and it got me curious...how many of you take your babies into a restaurant with you when you go out to eat? DH isn't for it, and I can see where he is coming from. Some people just don't enjoy/love/think of pets as highly as I do, and would consider it unhealthy or unsanitary. I think there are much less sanitary things to worry about in a public restaurant, but DH's argument is that it is inconsiderate. I would love to get Whitney trained well enough to sneak her into a movie or some place like that undetected! I'm undecided on the restaurant thing though. What do you guys think?

| I wouldn't do any sneaking, really... even if Jackson were smaller (being 16lbs, I don't think I could sneak him anywhere if I wanted to, LOL) but I just don't feel right doing it. I bring him with me to outdoor restaurants that allow pooches. He's very well behaved and just sits at my feet or on the bench with me. I think it depends... to me, someone putting a small dog in a bag and running into a store for a quick trip doesn't seem like a big deal, even if it's technically not allowed. But eating a restaurant where they are not allowed and there is food just seems wrong... it doesn't seem like it'd be fun for the dog, either, to be locked away in a purse anyways, they'd probably be happier at home...

| I didn't think you could take a dog in any "store" that carries food (except for the outdoor cafes of course.)

I say sneak...I don't sneak her into food joints, but I DO sneak her into clothing stores. Lol. I'm not comfortable taking her into places with food. Especially since she's not so well behaved yet.

| Maybe you shouldnt...but if Bevo is with me, especially on a warm day, I will take him in restraunts in his carrier. I usually sit his carrier at my feet and he never makes a peep. (I figure there are people way dirtier than my baby there!! he he)

| I take Kaji with me if I'm going to an outdoor cafe. I especially love the Lazy Dog Cafe. Hey have a pup menu and even bring water just for the little ones. I will take him to places under certain circumstances. Foe example, let's say I took Kaji out to run pet friendly errands. But, as I'm out my mom asks I stop by the grocery store to pick up eggs or something. I know Kaji is not allowed in the store, but I'm not leaving him in the car either. In his carrier he goes, and we're in and out.

I know...some are gonna have a problem with this. I have a problem with many of the people I see out too...the smokers, those coughing & hacking with illness, those that don't seem to know how to use a shower, those greasy workers reeking of oil/gas that stop at a my local diner on their lunch break....and so many others. My pup is clean, healthy & UTD on shots...wish more of the general public was

| No, I would not take him into a regular restaurant.

| Which is why DH and I left ours with a sitter, or just didn't go out while they were too young to have self-control.

YT 1000 Club Member | Weather permitting, I take mine with me everywhere. However, when there's rules, I think they should be followed. I think mine like to "defend" the Car, when they have to stay in it for a while. When leaving them in the Car alone, of course there's proper ventilation, and I release them from their restraints. I think they prefer that, to being left at home.

| I've never done it before (don't have a good concealing bag yet) but I could see myself doing in like a fast food restaurant or cafe as I won't be staying there long. But a regular restaurant I wouldn't.

No Longer a Member | If the dog is sitting quietly in its carrier at the owners feet I don't see a problem with it. I haven't sneaked Rizzo anywhere, I'll just stop at an outdoor cafe if I have him with me and the people working will usually bring out a bowl of cold water for him. Personally I'd rather have a restaurant full of dogs, quietly in their carriers then one little kid running around screaming and making obnoxious noises. |
