| Lady become a Mommy again! I apologize for not updating the Yorkie Community. Lady has blessed me again. On Jan. 11th she mated with the yorkie next door, thus giving birth to FOUR healthy yorkie puppies on March 9th beginning at 6:10 PM. She wasn't as attached after a while with the four as they became overwhelming for her (and for me) but she did a great job! One boy and three girls, two are in their respective homes and one going tomorrow. (Yes a week early but they've been weened) all are going to homes where I get to visit them. :-) Which of course makes me happy. Against what people have said, I am keeping one little girl the last one that Lady seems to be attached to. Lady will be fixed very soon! No more babies for her. She did a good job, even though the second time around was a surprise. I'm proud of my baby girl. Now she has Sebastian and I'm unsure what to name her little girl. I'll be posting pics. |

You let your dog mate with the neighbors dog- so chances are good, neither dog had the proper health testing to be bred. Now the pups are too "overwhelming" so you sent them home at 7 weeks- They shouldn't have gone home until 12 weeks that is WAY more than 1 week early.

| I'm so glad your little momma is doing well and that the pups were healthy. You may want to do a bit of research as to when pups should leave the litter and Mother. 12 weeks is a better date than 8 weeks. The pups may be weened but they develop better social skills etc if left with the litter longer.

Clearly you have no idea what you are talking about. If you must know my dog mating with the dog next door was an accident. Do you think I would not help my dog with her puppies and no they did not leave the mother early. Upon speaking to a vet she suggested 8 weeks. If my dog or the puppies have any problems, I would talk to a vet, someone who actually went to school to doctor animals not someone in a forum. You are very sad person for just assuming that this is what I wanted. Now do yourself a favor and don't answer my posts anymore. I didn't know that miserable people were allowed on this forum. | |

1. If a vet suggested you to give newborn pups up at 8 and/or 7 weeks, find a new vet. Even though I may be only a "poster", any book you read on breeding and any breeder(well reputable breeder) you speak to does not give their pups up before 12 weeks. 2. You may not currently see any health problems with the pups being given away so young, but unfortunately the owners you sold the dogs to will witness them. Issues like separation anxiety, aggression, bad eating habits, and the inability to be social with other dogs all stem from being taken away too young. 3. How is it that's it's always an "accident" when a female dog gets pregnant? I'm pretty sure if a female goes into heat there's always a willing male. If you knew your neighbor had a male dog, why would you even chance letting your baby go anywhere near him? Don't attack other posters when you have not only made the mistake of letting your female get pregnant, but also giving her pups up way too young. It's for reasons like this that I stress getting your dogs fixed. Pups that develop poor behavior and possibly get shipped to a shelter shouldn't be the outcome of your lack of responsibly.
