| When did your pup get the run of the house? I was wondering at what age you let your yorkie have the run of the house? Was it just based on potty training? Teething? Or just age? ZoE is 20 weeks old TODAY!!! I've been working on finishing the basement in a lil house I bought last year. (It had to be completely gutted due to leaking water. I had new draintile installed & it's now bone-dry, so decided to finish it for when my kids are home from college.) I've had ZoE down there with me in an playpen "supervising" for the weeks I was framing the walls & running the electrical. Yesterday & today I was installing insulation, so didn't want her down there inhaling the stuff, so I just left her running around loose upstairs. She was fine. I'm wondering if I should let this be a permanent thing from here on out during times I'm gone from home and can't take her with me. ZoE is completely potty-trained and even though she is seriously teething right now, she only ever chews on her chew toys, not my furniture. Thoughts???

| Mine got full run of the house based on potty training and teething- Armani chewed cords when he was a baby- so I had to be really careful with him since that is super dangerous! I think he was around 6-8 months old when he was finally reliable in the house- same with Chloe.

| Marley still doesn't get run of the house because she isn't completely potty trained..once she is then I'll let her.

| Louie got run of the full house when he was potty trained which was about 8 months. He still isn't allowed in the basement without one of us,because we also are remodeling down their and their is to much stuff laying around. I'm afraid he will get into something and get hurt. He only chews his toys and his bully sticks, so we were lucky in that regard

| Jackson was 5 months or so. He had basic free roam- he was blocked off in my "section" of the house for a while but it's a big section with a big living room, a bedroom and a bathroom. The size of an apartment really and he always proved to do perfect while I was gone. He just never messed with anything. Plus my moms dog was still alive so they usually just slept together on my bed. He also has had free roam at my dads house since then... he just never got into much and always proved himself to be reliable.

That is how ZoE is! She is the easiest pup I've ever had. She was very easy to potty train, doesn't chew any of my stuff, likes having a bath & being groomed & walks on leash without pulling. I love it...but it makes me keep thinking she's just too good to be true. I trust her to potty on her pads. I'm mainy wondering if she doesn't chew on any of my stuff now, will she stay like that or am I likely to come home to one helluva surprise? A potty accident can easily be cleaned up...but once stuff is destroyed...whole different story.

| Rhia got full run of the house when she was totally potty trained and my parents felt comfortable with it since I was living with them. She was never really bad with teething, only when cooped up and bored. So we just picked up any loose things on the ground and there she went. She's also always had full run of my apartment. She uses her weewee mat when I'm not home and she only isn't allowed in my bathroom. She likes to play with the toilet paper and trash can. So yep. She's allowed everywhere else.

| Teegy was 5 months, he was fully potty trained still teething, so a couple of wooden items got a wee bit chewed, but other than that all was good |

| the best part with Teegy was if he did have an accident while on his own, he did it in the toilet at the base of the toilet bowl. I was so proud of him for doing his biz in the toilet and that only happened about 5 times |

| Rosie got free run of the house after she was completely potty trained. We started leaving her in the master bath with puppy pads, then the master bedroom and bath, then full run of the house.

| Wait, what? Are you saying he literally climbed up on the toilet and did it in the water? Or he just did it on the floor by the toilet? That would be amazing if he did it in the toilet without being trained... |

| After potty training was all done - about 9 - 12 mos. after I got him. Until then I would barricade him in the kitchen with newspapers or pee pads. He's had free run of the house since then and no problems whatsoever. He doesn't have access to electric cords so I don't have to worry about that plus Tibbe is no chewer - completely disinterested and won't even chew that much on his chewies. Just be sure the potty training has taken and he would much rather hold it than go in the house and he 's all set to rule the house.
