| Walking So how much walking is to much?? Bebe will walk 1 to 3 miles. I usually walk around 6:30/7ish in the am and if we do an evening walk it's around 7:30/8ish. I walk her and then pick her up only because I feel she needs a break . She then starts to wiggle and she wants to walk . She loves walking, I bring water and sometimes she'll drink it, but usually she's just pulling me .. Like let's go already. She has a sister who is a Chihuahuaand a brother who is a Pomeranian, I'm use to walking them . |

| I'd say that's fine Just listen to her - if you pick her up because she seems tired and she wants to get back down, then she's fine to keep going. These little dogs have TONS of energy and as long as they're a good weight and healthy, they can go and go and go, it's amazing I usually walk with Alice and my other two dogs for about 1/2 hour (I walk pretty fast, but not sure how far that would be), but sometimes it's more like and hour and she's always fine, just drinks a bunch of water when we get home and takes a nap (sometimes she'll actually play for a while).

| Been working on walking with Teddie, he seems to be able to go and go but he isn't as curious as I thought he would be. He loved going and sniffing things, so I thought walking the neighborhood would be a good idea for him, but he lollygags and keeps me stopping. LOL I knew when my other dogs had enough walking, when we would pass by the house they would look at me and move to my right which showed me they wanted let off at this spot. If I intended to walk more I'd take them in and give the DH leash duty so I could continue on.

| If she wants to, let her. How old is she? If she's a young pup, it may be best to give her a few breaks, but an adult dog that is willing and capable of walking that distance can. I know a lot of dogs, including pretty small Chihuahua's, who LOVE to walk and will forever. I think walking is so good for both human and dogs. I walk with Jackson, typically speaking, 2 miles every day. But sometimes we go as far as 5. His little Yorkie girlfriend, Nala, is about 6lbs and can easily go 4-5 miles.

YT 1000 Club Member | I'm not sure that the speed I travel with mine, could be called walking ! Actually, it's more of a Jog or very fast walk. My Male Sneakers is in the lead, with My Female Becca being able (right now at 10 mo) usually lasting nearly the whole route. I have a verbal command, which permits them to take the lead when when we do this. I think that command is specially useful, when there is heavier brush where "something" might be hiding. I try to maintain the same Route each time... Reason for this is, that "should" either of my two get loose, and out of the yard, that habitual route is the most likely place for them to go. Therefore making a recovery, possibly a lot quicker.

YT 1000 Club Member | HA, they do to you ! But, when you put noses like our little ones have with that, very few mistakes are made. I don't think that Yorkies are given enough credit for their scenting ability. The noses on my two work 24/7 I think. They never quit twitching back and forth, and have frequently detected an intrusion onto the property by Cats and our resident Possum, when they couldn't see out where it was. They had a little help though, I do have a Fresh Air intake on the A/C system. This is sorta cute, but noisy... When I let them out in the morning, MY Female Becca will run back and forth along the "walk path" of something that has crossed the yard, and bark like hell as she runs along, with her nose right against the ground. I think she's saying...."ha, ya can't fool ME !"

| I'd say when your baby tells you. Teegy and I have gone for very very long outtings. I always take water and food with me and if he wants up he'll let me know and when he wants back down he tells me that too. We've been out for 4 hours. I love that he likes to walk because it makes my bum shrink |
