Donating YT 2000 Club Member | A little problem We have new neighbors that moved in behind us and they have a dog I think a s**tz zu and 3 young daughters. Jersey and Brielle hate all of them! The neighbors that lived there before had 2 dogs an affenpincher (sp) brussels griffon, Jersey and Brielle loved them. They were Jersey's best friends they would come in our yard and Jersey had free reign in their yard. I can't let jersey and Bri out if the kids or dog is out because they go nuts! Even when J&B are inside and see them they see them outside, they go crazy by the door. I need suggestions on how to get J&B use to the new neighbors

| I am so sorry you are having to go through this. Boy, it does make a problem. We had next door neighbors a few years back that had kids that love to torment our dogs. They were usually only out when they went to tee tee but they would always bark at the kids because of how they treated them. One kid threw a brick and hit little Mandy's side. She cried & cried and of course we had to take her to the vet. The vet said if it had been Tina as little as she is it would have killed her. Please be careful, kids can be really cruel at times when dogs bark at them. Its only natural they are going too because if they are aggrivated. It ruined Mandy. She never liked kids after that. What a shame parents don't take the time to teach their kids to love animals. Good luck and hope you don't have some of the problems we had. Thank God they moved. |

| We had exactly the same problem with Louie, New neighbors move in and anytime they were out he would run to the fence and bark non stop. Bring him in and he would sit at the doorwall and bark in the house. Which was weird cause Louie is not a barker. So I would go out with him and follow him to the fence tell him " no bark It's ok no bark" and pick him up and start talking to the neighbors. After a few days of this he just stop, and likes them now.I think he thought they were not supposed to be their and he was on duty patrol. or he just had to get use to them. Good Luck!! I know it can be frustrating.

| Sorr Laurie, no advice here. Chase and Calvin don't like our neighbor's dogs. Actually, no one does, they are barking non stop whenever they are outside. The lady lets them bark for hours. |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Luckly we do have a fence between us. I think they are doing the same as Louie protecting the yard. I'm hoping the neighbors will work with me to help them settle down.

| My neighbor's dogs on the other side of the fence are a GSD and another large dog (not sure). The four of them Loooove to engage in a little fence fighting. I especially think the neighbor's dogs enjoy it since they never get out for a walk or anything. They were mad at me for putting up a real fence since everyone around here has an invisible fence. BUT their dogs never have their collars on. Let's see - my Westie and yorkie and your GSD and other big dog. Wonder who would win that fight?

| Sweetie, I think you should meet the neighbors and ask if they will allow thier children to help you "train" B & J to meet and like kids. Offer to give them little treats and tell them to toss a treat to B or J when they meet them. Tell the children the story about B & J being best friends with the doggie who use to own the house, and they lost their best friend when he had to move when his mommy and daddy bought another house. Kids eat that stuff up and if you talk to them like they are tiny adults (in a kid way) they will get a feeling of being respected by you and will call you their nice neighbor and I think a beautiful relationship will blossom I could go on and on but I'm sure you get the idea.

| Probably just the newness of everything. Dogs seem to just hate change but once they begin to accept the "newbies", they will probably settle down. I hope it works out soon.

♪♥ Jazi & Izi's Mom ♥♫ Donating Member | Thank goodness the kids next door moved but now it's an older couple (an elderly mom and her ill, grown son) and their dog. My older dog bark incessantly at the woman because she talks to her and my dog hates that. They're out there every morning, seven days a week. Good luck. My suggestion is to let them meet the new kids to insure the new kids will be nice to them. Kids can be cruel to animals, unfortunately, without the proper parental guidance so they may love them if they bond....and maybe the dogs will squeal with glee instead of barking. (fingers crossed).

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Update Yesterday Jersey and Brielle met the neighbor dog named Lucky. We opened the gate and Jersey and Bri tore after her. Jersey and Lucky then just sniffed butts and started playing. Little Bri was not so impressed with Lucky she just kept yapping and yapping, Lucky ran to her and little tuff girl came running home to Mommy yapping the whole way home .LOL I think it's going to work out. Later in the day Jer and Bri were on the deck (which is gated) Lucky came outside, J&B didn't make a sound.

♪♥ Jazi & Izi's Mom ♥♫ Donating Member | Sounds like they're off to a good start anyway. I wish you the best with that. We all know that can be a stressful situation when it's literally, right in your backyard!!
