| Puppy weight gain My furbaby is gaining about 2oz a week. She is 16 weeks and weighs 2lbs 8oz. Our next vet appt is in 2 weeks. Is 2 oz a week at this age normal? She eats 3 times a day plus a couple of quartered wellness puppy treats during training sessions. Also, how much did/does your Puppy weigh at this age? Thanks! |

| Gizmo loves those wellness puppy treats too! When Gizmo was 16 weeks he was only 2lbs. Sounds like your yorkie is going to be a good size! I would say between 4-5 pounds full grown Gizmo is only 3.5 pounds and he is 10 months old. I hope he grows a bit, he is so fragile! Good luck trainning your furbaby!!!! |

| Doesn't sound like too much to me. All Yorkies grow differently. Jackson is now a 16lb 2.5yr old adult. At 9 weeks old, he was 5lbs. At 12 weeks old, he was 6lbs. At 16 weeks old, he was 8.6lbs. Then he got to 12lbs and maintained that weight until a little over a year old.

| 2oz i think is normal... coco started off as 1.5kg then 1.6 a week later then 1.8 2 weeks later... and coco will be visiting the vet next week and i think she's closer to 2kg and she's not about 19 weeks. I asked the vet last time we were there and the vet asked him what i'm feeding him Royal Canin puppy (i plan on switching when we move to canada... just good stuff aint available here in korea...) a little less than 1/2 cup per day with very little treats. i take 1cm treat and cut it into 4 pieces for training purposes... the vet said she's not fat but maybe she'll grow up to be bigger than we expected. the breeder expected perhaps 2.5kg but i think coco will be closer to 3kg. (which im fine with)

| Jett at 16 weeks weighed probably 1 pound 6-7ozs. He is now 25 weeks and just hit 2 pounds 3ozs. He is gaining about 1-1.5 ozs weekly on average. I have noticed the last couple of weeks he has only gained 1/2 oz or nothing. I know once they hit about 5-6 months they slow down on their growing (usually). He is a pretty tiny petite guy though. Bella is a bit bigger and much 'sturdier' than Jett and is 4.5 pounds now at just over 1 year old. At 16 weeks my guess is she was probably 2 1/3 pounds or so. She gained 7 ozs in a months time after she turned a year old. She had stalled at just under 4 pounds in weight for about 5 months, then when she went into her first heat last week I weighed her, because she felt a bit heavier, and thats when I noticed she had put on almost half a pound!!! (I weigh once a month and last month she was 3 pounds 15 ozs. The month before she was 4 pounds even.) Last week 4 pounds 6 ozs. (Maybe retaining fluid?????? due to the heat??? LOL Highly unlikely but ya never know I guess.) All babies grow at different rates........but mine seemed to gain about 1-2 ozs during that time too!!!

| At 12 weeks Marley was 1.9 lbs..16 weeks she was 3 lbs. 20 weeks she was 3 lbs and a few ounces. She's about to be 24 weeks and still hasn't hit 4 lbs. She eats twice a day + training treats. She isn't gaining much.. Good luck on training!
