| Does anybody twitter? I have been trying to learn to tweet or use twitter. Does anyone here use it? Could you give me some insite on how to use it. I really don't have any friends that tweet and I normally follow a news worthy event. I just can't figure out how the whole tweet thing works. I did find yorkie talk on there and I have it selected to follow, but how do follow? I have read the general twitter info but was not helpful to me. If anyone tweets and can break it down for a big dummy I would appreciate it. May be I could find a book tweeting for dummies. I like the for dummies books I learn alot from them. |

| I found using Google Realtime great for following Tweets and some FB posts. Find something you like, click on the post and go to their page. I find it best for following everything said at once. For tonight, go to Google, look up top for the word "More", click Realtime and go to Realtime Search. Type in the name or word of choice, say, Butler Bulldogs - or Charlie Sheen or some such hot topic, enter and up come all the Tweets and some FB posts on that subject as they are posted. It is fun to follow a game or movie or AI on Realtime as you gets posts realtime as people are watching and posting. As the posts appear, you will get clues of things like hashtags, etc., to use for more searches. I like Twitter okay but unless you follow someone who posts alot, it is more fun to follow all posts at once. There are other services who do this same thing besides Realtime.

| I use Twitter, I follow mostly news and weather (okay and some celebs). The basics of Twitter is the person sending the "tweet" has 140 characters to communicate to their followers. A lot time the tweets are a short message and a URL (message pertaining to the URL). The URL can be to a website, blog or even a picture. When you send a tweet is going to all the people who follow you and will appear in the time line (time line being a list of all the tweets sent by the people they follow). People who follow you and "retweet" or RT your message, that way all the peeople who follow them will see the message. Its like a big game of telephone (remember that game). Hope this helps and does not confuse you, it took me awhile to get Twitter also

| ^very well said. also, if you're familiar with facebook, it's similar to facebook in the way that you update your "status" and it is shared with all your friends who "follow" you. To follow someone, you can click "follow" and then you receive all of their 'tweets' or status updates on your twitter home page. Also, if you want others to follow you, you can give them your username, and they can search you and "follow" you. AKA receive all of your tweets! Hope that helped a little! I don't tweet much but I've used it a couple of times. |

| A lot of celebrities are on Twitter so you can follow people you're interested in. Now they normally won't follow you back but if you send a tweet with "@" followed by their username they can see it and every once in a while they might respond. |
