| Boarding Dogs I am in need of some help. I am looking for a place to board my baby and my dads group in Allentown PA. Does anyone have any reputable places to recommend. This is a bit of an emergency situation due to a death in my family. We are not from this area but will need to board the group for a couple of days. Thank you so much for your help

| do u have to take them to Pensylvania? could they stay at home where they live, yours at your house and your dads at his house and get a Petsitter to come in? just a suggestion. you could call your vet to get a recommmendation. if you board , you will need to have them on the kennel cough vaccine.

| I would agree on hiring a petsitter if you can, Fetch! Pet care is good. Also, Camp Bow Wow... don't know if either are in your area. Sorry to hear about your situation.

| More info I was trying to save myself some pain by not giving all the details but I guess I need to. leaving them at home is not an option. My parents were on their first retired people vacation. On Sunday my mom passed away. Their dogs were traveling with them and we are traveling to my dad to help him and for a private service. Where the service is being held is a place where the dogs can't come. It will take a day there and a day back. As for my baby their is no way I am leaving her home. This is only one of the losses my family has suffered in the past four months. I have lost half my family and greyhound Bailey. Bella is still grieving for Bailey and she knows that something is going on now. Since, my mom she has become very clingy and the last thing I want to do is disappear for over a week. It will be hard enough to leave in boarding for the two days.

| i am so very sorry for the loss of your mom. if you are going to board you will need to get the kennel cough vaccine, so if they havent had it yet, i would do that asap because kennels require it and i believe you have to allow so much time for it to take effect. ( i'm thinking at least a few days maybe more ). do you have any relatives in PA near where you are going to be that you can ask. even if they can tell you who they use for a vet so you can get a refference. Maybe someone on here is near Allentown, PA and could give you a reference. dont know if you can do a search to see if there are any members from that area. i wish i could be more help. if i was from that area i would be happy to help you.

| Thank you for the info. I called my vets about the kennel cough yesterday when I found out where we were going. She will go in for a quick check up and to get her vaccination records and a health certificate. I looked at the Bow wow camp....not sure if this will work for my dads group of dogs. They are what you call country dogs who travel. They are not the pampered princesses my baby is. I get a lot of flack about my baby because she is "one of those dogs", meaning to them she is spoiled and pampered. I get told a lot that she is now a real dog. We don't have any family there so I trying to do it all by internet search at this point. I was hoping someone on YT who lived in the area would have some recommendations for me. I will keep looking. I am going to contact the camp for my Bella though. I am just worried she is going to think my mommy is leaving me. This is the most stressful time I have ever had in my life.
