| maybe my Yorkie Hello I am new to this site and not yorkie smart. I have a lead on a 15 yr old yorkie boy who is in good health considering his age and needs a home. He is a bit arthritic and cloudy eyes. He has just been checked by the vet and had his teeth cleaned. I want to know what the traits of the yorkies are the good and the bad...I have a 5 lb shih tzu and she is just the love of my life. I would welcome any help you can offer. |

| Hi Jazzman and welcome to yorkietalk 15 years of age and in good health great!! yorkies are generally proud little things that love attention, they are very lovable and are often compare in a fair way to human babies, thats why they get called "furbabies" i cant think of anything "bad" to tell u the truth - once a yorkie, always a yorkie They are very sensitive and feel ur mood, if u are a relaxed happy go lucky person, then most likely ur yorkie will catch the vibe and join in, this is my experience.... maybe other ppl can tell u more. | Welcome to YT, jazzman! Although Toto [our 19 month old girl] is the first Yorkie we have had any experience with, I can't imagine that kindness and love would be turned down by a Yorkie regardless of age and disposition! I think if would be an admirable thing to give a home to a senior of this breed! He may be "set in his ways" at 15 years but I would think that lots of patience and love would overcome any undesirable traits!!

| maybe my yorkie I am sad to say that I called the SPCA this morning and was told that there are two holds on Sammy and won't know for sure til Wed a.m. but was assured that it was a very slim chance that he would become mine due to the fact that I am third on the list. I feel sad, due to the fact that I always wanted a yorkie, wanted to make a good home for him, introduce him to my Sophie, a 5 lb. shih tzu. and love him to bits....Oh well it wasn't meant to be |
