| Greenies vs. Denta-stix's Ok, which is better/safer to give? I just had a conversation with a friend that quit using greenies because of the green dye and went to all natural denta-stix. There are some that believe food dye can cause ill-health effects in humans, I feel if they can in humans then they will in pets. Would like some feedback on this. Thanks. Oh BTW...I've been using Greenies and just ordered the big box of them. |

Denta-stix, CET dental chews are better as they do promote longer chewing and of course specially treated.

| I use dentastix. Greenies has had major problems in the past with dogs not digesting them and having blockages. They claim their new formula is safe but we have had people on here have problems with them and I just dont trust the company to put out a safe product. Members on here used to really use the greenies and would comment that they gave their dog green poop so thats all I know on the dye

| Thanks for the replies. I guess I will change over then. I have a brand new box of 96 teenie greenies. LOL Not opened yet. I do use the CET chews, but Bella eats them so fast. My vet carries the CETs and recommended greenies after her last dental cleaning. So far I haven't had a problem with them, but I don't want to encounter one either. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Do you mean denta six made by pedigree? The bag is labeled not for use for dogs under 10 pounds.

| I give Princess the Pedigree Dentastix. They are made for small/toy dogs, but not under 5 pounds. I make the 24 last about a month, giving one almost everyday. Two vets just said her teeth are in great shape (-needing 2 baby removed). What is the CET you guys are talking about?

| I was wondering how Dentastix can actually do anything. I was given a few so I gave Jackson one and he ate it in less than 60 seconds. It's a really soft treat... so I don't see how it would do anything for cleaning teeth? Also, read somewhere that each stick of the larger one has 300 calories! Yikes! Pedigree Dentastix Daily Oral Care Snack Food for...

| After hearing a lot of bad stories involving greenies I have never bought them. I sometimes give Callie a dentastick as but not extremely often, they dont last long with Callie or Sammy (my moms).
