| Getting a new puppy I have an 8 yr old female, who is the princess of the house with all 4 of my kids. We are thinking about getting another yorkie and we aren't sure if we should get a female or a male. |

| I would recommend a male as well, especially since your girl is a little older. Most Yorkies will get along with other spayed/neutered pets of either sex but occasionally you will have "tiffs" or even fights among same sex pets. Since you would be ok with either sex I would recommend getting a boy then you shouldn't have to worry about it. Good luck, Teresa |

| We have a female, got a Male Puppy. The Male will not leave my wife, and the female hangs with me. |

YT 1000 Club Member | Tali, IMHO... Same Breed, Opposite Sex, New Dog younger than the "resident", Both altered, of course. And, when the new Dog gets there, make sure you give the Resident Dog extra petting/attention. shodanusmc, HA, I have EXACTLY the same situation !

| I agree with the other posters I would get a male because of the age of your other dog. wouldn't want to dethrone the current princess with a younger one

I agree! But...we started with a "Schnorkie" (male yorkie/mini schnauzie hybrid) and later got a Yorkie (male) and a Miniature Schnauzer (female)....
