| It's DONE!! I know it is inevitable............every year I tell myself, not THIS year, not THIS time. I find myself dreading the approach of spring............for with it THIS will come. I promise myself to do better, to do more, I'll just buck up and do it. But in the dead of winter with the snow on the ground, the temp below freezing and the limited light, I think.............I will do it later. I will get to that when it is light outside...... when it is not as cold..... this weekend. So every year I fall into the same trap. Then with the approach of spring I think.......next weekend.....it is not quite warm enough. They are all just excuses..............I know that I am just putting off the inevitable. It is something that HAS to be done, there is no a choice. So, today I did it, just like I will do a million times this spring, summer and fall, untill again next winter I make the promises, put it off, waiting for the weekend, the light or the warmer weather........which makes the first time of the spring the nightmare that it is! But it is now done, so bring on the spring................................Poop patrol is accomplished!!

| Good for you! I would rather clean that kind of stuff up when they are "poop-sickles" rather than a thawed stinky mess.

| I guess walking the dog and picking it out when it happens has it's merits

Senior Yorkie Talker | ahh way to go!!! I have to pick bella's poops up as I go because we live in the city so I don't have to worry about this but when I had my black lab spring was always a disgusting time of year!

| I cracked up when you called it "poop patrol" because that's what my DH calls it! I'm lucky that I'm not assigned that duty. I just have everything else: bathing, brushing, teeth brushing, put toys away etc...

| Poop patrol literally lol Ours literally says POOP PATROL on it Thankfully the kids love doing it...don't ask me why but I'm not asking them, they do it and I'm more than fine with it. I just loved how you wrote your post...we're lucky we have a year round mild climate, otherwise ye...of course we also in a rain forest here so if the kids don't get out there I'm trying to rush before the rain starts to do it. LOL there's Elvis in the background on his "clean spot" a Redwood stump! I don't know if you can see it, but no I did not dye him green for St. Pat's it's washable crayola bubbles the lil boy was blowing in the yard and the dogs were chasing...the boy on the other hand does have food coloring dyed green bangs...he was less than enthused with me making him stop and pose for a pic, 'you're weird Mom taking pics of me picking up poop'

| Ha! I did poop patrol last night too! Definitely thinking that I need to start just picking it up every day (or at least once a week)...

And I do poop patrol at least every other week in the spring summer and fall, but in the winter I just hate getting out to do it, that is why in the spring it is soooooooooooo gross As for getting mu kids to do it, my youngest is 18, getting an 18 year old to pick up after themselves is almost impossible, so you can imagine it would take an act of God to get her to go on poop patrol!!

| Ye we do it weekly usually...I'd be totally the same as you if we had a real winter. Except if rain comes before anyone gets out there it's just well gross...and we wait for it to dry up a bit... Thinking of getting a potty patch for my covered patio as they are going there now when it's raining... The pest control guy comes once a month so I like to do a run through TWO of my three use the "potty spot" but one just seems to go where ever...he laughs at me if he catches me out there running around with the poop patrol grabber. HAHAH I wish my kids would clean up after themselves! Like I said I'll not question them directly as to why they do poop patrol (they may think twice about doing it!)...I think my 11 year old daughter only does it because it involves a grabber and it's the part of yard work she gets least dirty doing and can be done relatively quickly and easy LOL and well for my 6 year old son...it involves a grabber...I'd post a video if he let me take one...I swear though it's like he's treasuring hunting around the yard checking for pooh! If the kids were a bit more motivated I'd totally be renting them out for it! Ye food coloring dye...we tried some semi permanent dye last night and it didn't hold so we were going to go to a salon and have some temp. green put in...they wanted to bleach his hair first! I'm like he's 6 are you serious!?! So we tried food coloring mixed with gel...worked fine...sent a note to school to his teacher though"...food coloring dye...please do not let him get wet...please don't let the other kids touch it I don't want parents of green-dyed finger children mad at me..."
