| What a difference a week makes I am very happy and so proud to announce my Bella finally got the potty thing down. For the past week, not a mistake. I am soooooo happy. As some of you know last week I was so upset with her. She peed on my sofa and would look at me and pee on the floor. Well I decided to try a different approach. I boiled a chicken breast ( her favorite food) and chopped it up in small pieces. When I would see her pacing I would take her out and say go pee poop poop and praise her all the time she was doing it and immediately give her a small piece of chicken. Well it wasn't long before she got it. Go outside, do my job, get chicken....mmmmmmnnn good! Last night I took her out she had a pee. We were not back in the house 5 minutes and she started to do the potty dance again, she ran over to me and then to the door. I thought she was pulling a fast one on me, looking for another piece of chicken. I took her out anyway and she immediately went to her special place and did a poo. I was so excited I almost cried with joy. So to all of you out there dealing with potty issues. BE PATIENT. It will come. Give them lots of praise and love. Watch them constantly when they are loose in the house. Bella is still young 8.5 months and I realize she probably will still make a mistake now and then, but it is so encouraging when you have these days. |

| Sounds like she is doing very well. Continue to be patient and persistent, even when she seems to forget all she knows. New trainees do very well and then, at some point, inevitably seem to start to have accidents when the novelty of learning something new wears off. Not meaning to be a downer, but it is just almost always the case. Just be prepared not to get rattled by it but just keep on with your schedule and they will pick up on it again. |

| I have gone through that already. She was doing really well and then started to pee every where. That is why I am so excited this time. I know she knows the differance. I had said in my posts the other week, I was sure it was defiance and I still believe that. I just hope she continues. |

| I am pea green with envy! We are still one step forward and two back. Angel has been better since I started treat training, something I have never done. GSDs and Border Collies seem to get it much easier but these little ones, sigh, you have to bribe them. I might try chicken too.... Hubby will not even discuss a Yorkie till Angel is trained
