YorkieTalk Newbie! | New to Group and Yorkies :-) Hello All, I am new to this group and dont quite know how it works. I have recently aquired a yorkie boy, I am a cat lover but he stole my heart. I found the little chap a week ago weaving in and out of traffic on a busy main road in rush hour . As a lover of all animals I could do nothing more than to pick the little mite up, I wouldnt be able to forgive myself if he had been hurt or worse. I called my local dog warden who picked him up and took him to the pound so his owners would be able to find him easily, (Or so I hoped) as I am normally a cat lover it never entered into my head to keep him, until the pound told me that as the finder I could have first refusal if his owners didnt come forward in 7 days. He was a lovely little chap and his sparkly face melted my heart, so much so I have called the pound on a daily basis to see how he is or if he has been reunited with his owners. Sadly he hasn't been collected nor has anyone enquired about him so he is coming home with me tommorrow and I really really can not wait . He is about 3 or 4 so the vets say and he has a very slight jaw defect ( I am not sure if they said its over or under shot?) Hopefully though that will not cause him any problems. I will call him Harley and have no doubt that I will be scouring the forums for info on everything yorkie from here on in as I am used to furries of the feline kind. Nicola |

| Welcome to YT!! I'l be getting my 1st Yorkie pup on Saturday, and I'm so excited!! I know what you mean about knowing more about cats. I'd probably consider myself more of a "cat person", because I think I'd love just about any cat, but I only like *certain* types of dogs. You'd never know it based on how spoiled and loved my 12 yr Lhasa is- no one told him I was a "cat person". LOL!! You'll find a wealth of information here; good luck with your new family member! |

| Welcome Nicola! How wonderful that you found each other. I am probably a wee bit biased, but I think Yorkies have the best personalities of any breed. Good luck and let us know how it is going!
