| Spayed Surgery My Lola is having a surgery tomorrow at 7:30am, she is about to get fix or spayed. The vet told us that we can not feed her 12 hours before the surgery but I am not sure about water. Can somebody give me a answer, I am very confused now. |

| My vet always said no food or water after midnight. I'll keep your little one in my thoughts and prayers. Let us know how she does.

| Some vets allow water the night before and some don't. I'd say none after midnight if you aren't sure..

| Our vet said that a little water was okay but be careful not to over do it. Best of luck to you and your little one. She will be fine and back home in your arms in no time!

YorkieTalk Newbie! | How did Lola do? Hope it went well. I'm getting a new puppy (silky terrier) soon and was wondering what age is best for spaying?

| Thank you all for your well wishes. Lola is home and doing well. She is still very droggy, but the vet said she should be able to resume normal activities in a couple of days. Right now we are keeping a close eye on her to ensure she isn't doing anything to affect the stitches. We appreciate everyones concern and prayers. She is a wonderful dog and we are very lucky she is in our life. After she heals completely, we will be bringing her brother into the family also. When everything started happening to her last week we called the lady who gave us the dog and she said that Lola probably needed a playmate. Fortunately for us her brother from the same litter was still available. He will be joining the family just as soon as she recovers 100%. Again, we truly appreciate all of your help and support and rest assured there will be more posts because this is a whole new experience. |
