| Almost lost my baby and it's my fault! I literally almost lost Emma and had a heart attack...I was walking my babies and I didn't leash Emma because she's always a good walker (learned my lesson the hard way!). Instead, I leashed Carmel and Hope so Emma can just follow, which she does very well. Well, we had to cross a small busy street and I ran a little because I didn't want to hold up the traffic. When I reached the other street, I looked down and Emma was missing!! I looked back onto the street and she was right in the middle of the street in front of the "Stop" white line and a car passed by almost hitting her. Luckily, she made it over after the car left. I felt so guilty and scared. I was really traumatized and I just feel like a bad mommy. It made me really thank God for her safety and appreciate her more. I love my babies SO MUCH and can't imagine if something were to happen to them...it'd be even worst if it was my fault! I have learned my lesson and I just needed to vent. Thanks!

| Oh WOW! You must have had a heartattack when you saw your little one standing there. That is a good lesson for all of us. You can just never EVER be too careful. I am SO glad it turned out ok.

| Wow that is scary. Glad she is Ok. I'm of the opinion when out in public and around things always have a leash on them no matter that they do well without one. All it takes is one thing to happen. (You Learned).

| Wow! I'm so glad nothing bad happened to her! It is a good reminder for us to always keep our babies on the leash no matter what!

| Wow, that was scary! I'm glad she is OK! Thanks for reminding us how quickly things can happen by letting down our guard. You're a good Mommy, and I agree that it isn't worth the chance again. Give them all an extra hug Last edited by Amazing Yorkies; 02-28-2011 at 09:58 PM. |

| When I read your story it just made me think of what Elsa did(runiing after my DH's truck in the middle of the highway) I am SOOO happy this story had a happy ending. It makes you rethink all of your habits you have for her. You are very lucky and very Blessed!!! |

| I'm so sorry that happened... I let Elvis go off leash when I walk my schnauzie on leash, he follows me but I only do so when in our suburban neighborhood-I still pick him up right away when I see a car turn down the street or out of a driveway on our cul-de-sac, things like this remind me that I shouldn't be doing it even here in this situation...it does only take one time. So glad that everything ended okay... |
