| Has anyone left their furbaby to go on vacation? My sister & I want to go on a cruise for 9 days during X-Mas. I love Lexi sooo much I am afraid to leave her for that length of time. We sleep in the same bed every night together. As I am typing, I am tempted to cancel it. If I do go, the vet tech at Lexi's vet office will sit for her. Please give me some advice!! |

| I went on vacation for 7 days and left Tucker with my sisters neighbor. She is a member of the National Yorkie Rescue and she has 2 rescues of her own.. She called me a few times to let me know that he was great and she did not want me to worry... Everything went fine so I would say that if you really trust the people that are going to be caring for him then don't cancel it.... |

| Can't you take her with you? Don't they allow dogs on the cruise? |

| We left our yorkie once at the vets when we went on vacation because we could not find anyone to doggie sit. And could not take her with us. She did not want to eat and grieved for us terribly. So, we never left her again. After that, we just left her at the house. And my brother or my nanny would come in on a regular basis to feed her, change her paper, make sure she had clean water. And to show her some attention. When she got sick with kidney failure, my mom went on a cruise with my 3 aunts. She had it planned way before Lacey got sick with kidney failure. My dad works offshore and is gone a week at a time. So, he could not stay with her. So, I did. And I took her to vets 3 times a week for my mom. She had to have fluid shots just to keep her alive. |

| I left Cowboy with the breeder that I bought him from. I was gone for five days. I was so worried about him. But, he had a really great time. She has the mom, dad and 2 other pups about his age. She also has a shih tzu. When I went to pick him up, he did not want to leave. He was sad a couple of days after we got home. But, he did fine.

| If you cant take her with you on the cruise, i think If you trust the person,it will be fine. You can start letting Lexy and the vet tech socialize so when the time comes she knows her and dont get too stress out. |

| We had to leave Rowdy for 2 weeks with my daughter when he was only 3 months old. We went on a cruise too! I called home every day when I could to check on him. I was sooo worried, but it worked out really well. He loves my daughter and granddaughter and their cat is his favorite playmate. He stays with them when we go out of town for the weekend occasionally, and he always does fine. I think the advice to get your baby used to the person who will keep her is good. Lexi will miss you and you her, but it shoudl be OK.

| No advice here .... we totally changed our lifestyle! If Toto can't go ... then we don't! If stores, tourist attractions, etc. only knew the money they are losing, they would let these little ones in!! On the other hand, we are saving a ton of money!!!

| I agree. Bridget has totally changed my lifestyle as well. I actually cancelled going to my sister's in NY for Christmas because she said I couldn't bring Bridget. I can't bear the thought of leaving her for a week, plus we're moving to a new city before the holidays and I don't have anyone I'd feel comfortable leaving her with yet. |

I Love Thor Donating Member | I have left Thor before to go out of town. Luckly there is another dog at home so they can buddy up if they get sad, but if you have a good sitter then it will be okay. IMO you shouldn't cancel your trip to stay home with your puppy. He will be waiting for you when you get home and I bet he will be spoiled the whole time you are gone! |
