| Cotton Coat Hi everyone, I'm trying to find a good shampoo for Lucy. She has a cottony coat and her hair is so fluffly. Does anyone have any suggestions on shampoo and conditioner ?? And maybe a good brush?? Thanks in advance. |

| I just ordered Madan brushes and was told that their pin brushes are not like most they are sensitive and they have varying degrees, also that for a cottony a comb should be used first before the pin brush... toplinepet.com http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...-question.html I'm still searching for the perfect shampoo right now...a lot of people say 1. Yorkie Splash and Shine is great but I've heard from cottony coat Yorkie people it leaves a waxy feel, and it has rosemary oil with rosemary causes seizures and my Elvis is epileptic, but others say they used it without incident, 2. others swear by Minksheen (I'm not to keen on having minks donate their fat for my dog to have shampoo). So I'll be following this still in search of the right shampoo... 3.Espree products seem pretty okay too |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I found that for my cottony coated girls the Pet Silk products worked well. I use Madden and Chris Christensen brushes and combs.

| Thank you both for your response. I'll sure check all of these out. I have one that has cottony coat and one silky. What I use for one doesn't always work for the other...after 4 years you'd think I would have found one that works for Lucy ( cottony). I will definitely try the comb before the brush. Thanks again |

| My new rescue has a cotton coat and I ran out of coat handler. I always used this on my binky and the leave in conditioner rinse as well. I plan on using this or at least giving it a go. I like that fact that its 15:1 ratio and I just bought bottles at the dollar store to water it down to start when I ran out the first time I saved those bottles and started using them and refilling them with the new stuff. The next pet or dog show coming up is next month so I'm going to buy it at that to save shipping costs. I also love the smell of coat handler if it doesn't work my 2nd try will be all systems brand |

My current pup has a silky coat, and my groomer is using Nova Pearls on her. It's going well, so I'm investing in a gallon of that. It's a 5:1. My groomer is happy to buy me shampoos at cost and let me pay what she pays. She's so great!! This silky coat is a mystery yet; my baby's just 16 weeks so far!

| I have just started using the IV San Bernard PEK conditioner and shampoo. Shampoo is just ok....but conditioner is AMAZING!!!!!!!!! I absolutely love it!!! It is expensive but WELL worth it. (Unless you enjoy combing out the snarls and knots on our cottony babies) Which I very much do not enjoy. Since using PEK conditioner, I have noticed very few new knots starting.
